I'm moving back to Robertsdale this month. A rural place with a lot of history. Mines and the old railroad way on top of Joller Mountain... I have family on my mother's side that lives down the valley (when you get to the bottom of Joller). Nice to be around back where I grew up when I was little.

The situation with the coal mine surface ruins is complicated by most of them being outside of the right-of-way owned by the EBT Foundation. The Friends of the EBT own only the former station & “Old Post Office” in Robertsdale, and access for the walking tours of the mine buildings is due to forbearance of the Kovalchick’s, who apparently retain ownership of the rest of the 10K acres of the old Rockhill Coal Co. outside of the ROW.

@@historysablast as relations between both ebt groups and the family seem to be quite well, one could assume that woth sufficient funds it would not be too hard to find an agreement
