12.08 - that's a Wayne's Blowfly...designed by Wayne, one the guys from our warehouse. He's stoked about the shout out, even if you did call it ugly 😁😁
Interesting to see that the best days in fly fishing are not determined by the size of the fish one catches. Lovely video Gareth, excellent videography transmitting your impressions of the day - easily one of your best videos
Brilliant to get the hook up at around 6 minutes on the drone and to see the fish run. Your camera work is really impressive. Thank you for sharing it with us, looked like a perfect day.
Nothing better than reeling in all the slack line to catch up with the fish to have it continue its run even further upstream!😄Nicely done all the way around.
Another great video, Gareth! I finally got to catch my first trout of 2023 on a small creek in North Georgia. Nothing like the amazing scenery and big browns you've got in New Zealand. But, at least I'm not just sitting at home watching your videos 🙂 Keep the great content coming!

Dude - love your videos. Inspired by them (and always on my bucket list), I was able to travel to the South Island in early December and put the fish of a lifetime in the net
What a stunning video in a beautiful scenery! And those healthy brownies! The water level seemed a bit low but that did not prevent the ectivity of the fish though. What a day indeed.

There is actually 3… 1 is left and 1 right of the fish. It’s very common in this river to have 2 or 3 to choose from.
Incredible skill fishing amazing water and fish.

Jealous!! That must be one of your fav rivers- you've been there a lot recently. It one of my favs as well when I visit from Scotland. I've never seen it so low but I usually fish before Xmas when nymph usually outfishes dry. I usually fish it blind as there's so many fish.

Yeah mate she’s an amazing river
i was thinking the same thing on your first fish, great release. i get frustrated fishing with people that cant handle the fish properly
Epic!
Savor this. Do not take it for granted.
Lugares increíbles para pescar 🎣
You must have passed and gone to fly fisher heaven - it's the only explanation I can think of
I only have dreams of having a day like that. Great photography and really enjoyed this episode. I see you're using a Scott Centric with a Lamson Speedster. Which model is that and does it balance well with the Scott?
Nice spot Gareth 😮
Incredible fishing mate. What is that lens I saw on your phone camera?
Nicely done! Are you fishing the North Island? How recent is this trip?
hey i recognize that stretch of water its the %^$# river in the upper stretches. I was hunting up in the hills and cometo the car park at the end of %^$# road and found a a guy from finland and france both had the previous day caught their largest ever fishes and had drunk all their beer joed out and flattened their car batteries. the Finnish guys fish was 72cm,s long and in the picture it looked like a whale. You were lucky to get a day when the wind behaved
Holy smokes!
Outstanding production .!!! ....Truly driving me nuts not being able to get out there currently !! I Shazamed that track at 5:20 so many times but no joy ... can you name the artist so we can purchase their work ????? Thanks.
Is this beautiful stream on the north or South Island?? Beautiful!!
man can you link the blowfly? looks killer!
Sorry if I missed it but what flys were you catching these on
Whats your set up Pal. Is that a hbx rod.
Hey mate. @ 8:55 what case and filter setup are you using for your phone? 🍻 think it’s the polar pro stuff right?
It lools to me that u using Scott Centtic here. What u think about that rod?
man, your filmmaking is really becoming top notch.

Question: do you sink the tippet near the fly or let it float?

Just what ever it wants
where is that river
I enjoy your videos but what's with your camera that it goes out of focus frequently?
Hmm, when you have quite a bit of line out why not just hit the edge of your reel with the palm of your hand to spool it back on since it goes a LOT faster than reeling it on, no criticism just a practical question.
EZ 👍🏿
