So good! Very informative and thank you for all the great details. I just linked this video of yours in the description of my most recent DIY video as I also used WLED with an esp2866 board and ws2812b lights. Thank you!
Very amazing walk through.. Ive done a lot of setups with WLED. This is by far, one of the best walk throughs out there. Great job!!
Dude!!! I wish there was a love button because this has been the best tutorial I’ve seen on programming LED strips. Your step by step explanation was perfect for me. Every person learns differently but I feel this video is simple enough for almost anyone to follow. Your graphic illustrations were simple as well. Great job!!! I’m going to try one of these hexagon projects with my son. I know putting together these videos is anything but easy so thank you for your hard work. Keep up the good job!
Great video, best WLED i've found so far. Can't wait to start my own project now. Also very excited for part 2
I'm definitely going to build some of these in my setup! Thank you for showing this
Great tutorial, thank you. I can’t wait for part II.
Great video showing this setup. You summarized a lot of items into a very useful video. Only real comments I have for anyone new to electronics: do be careful about enclosing electronics in a case, I doubt you'd ever see any issue with this setup he's shown here (low power consumption), but for more power-hungry setups I'd definitely suggest putting some holes in the case. Also, I've found those barrel adapters introduce a lot of resistance can get REALLY hot once you push >4A, I've not had any issues myself, but I went ahead and cut/stripped the end of the PSU 5V supply cord to just use the wires already present in the cord. If nothing else, it'll help improve the quality of your setup for longer runs.
Wow, what a great tutorial and with subtitles too, makes it easy to follow as I’m deaf. I like this project.
Best comprehensive video with all details..Thank you..
Man! What a great video! Thank you!
Great video! Learnt a LOT. Any estimation when the advanced video should be coming out? Have a project coming up that would take strip with close to 5 meters.
so helpful! thank you
Waiting for part II ❤️
Love the video!!! Thanks bro!
The best and easiest video to follow, thank you
Have the part 2 been released yet? Looking forward to the part on power injection. Super good video and easy to follow, hoping that part 2 is as easy.
Great tutorial video for people to get started doing their own LED projects! And I just now noticed the shoutout for the QuinLED-Dig-Uno in the end, that's very kind, thank you! :D Keep the great videos coming! :D p.s. New stock (improved version) is coming very soon! :D
Very good tutorial!
such a good and clear video thanks
Loved ur video... Keep educating..good work
Let’s go ur growing fast
Love your video, it super detail for beginer like me
thanks for the great video. I have a esp32 and I have tried to flash it after that I try to get it to work on the wifi, but it doesn't work. any thoughts on this?
When is the advanced video coming out??
Thsnkd . I also needed to install USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers
Great vídeo! I am following your tutorial for something similar. Just one question, what is the gauge of those jumper wires? Can those cables handle 5V10A?
such a great job thanks so much.
This was great and very informative! Will you still be making the second video?
good explanation on determining voltage - I probably would've grabbed any old charger
Great video. I am trying to put strip around the outside trim and windows of my enclosed concession trailer. Could you assist?
Awesome video thanks
Great video! Can you lay out custom segments on the strips? Like group certain LEDs up to control them seperatly to one another?
will doo my FIRST PROYECT thanks great info
can i ask something? how if i put d2/d4 to the left or right slot in led port? what would happen?
Thanks that really helped me
Great video. Can you tell me, how long the datacabel between controller and the first led can be max?
WOW BIG help thanx!!! : )
Could you make a video about how to make the LEDs react to Musik with the esp32?
Great tutorial. So i have to use a metal enclosures for 3-4 led strips because its huge enough for all these strips. But what about the controller? What Development Board do i need to sync 3 or more led strips?
no part 2?
Thanks for the video
I'm going to be using this setup behind my 65" TV, under my bed and behind my 3d printing station. I'm already testing everything out to make sure the components work. Already found out I have a DOA ESP32. The question I have is instead of cutting the LED strips, could I just set WLED to only use a portion of the strip? Say, maybe 200 instead of the full 300? I mean, if the LEDs are not on, they are pulling nearly zero power. I'm just asking because if I might want to use the strips at a later date for something else. I got a few 15A 5v power supplies to use with the for-mentioned installations, but couldn't I just set WLED to power 200 of the 300 LEDs safely for now, then later on use a more powerful power solution and use the full strip?
Do you think you could use a rocker switch with this as an on off switch for this?
thank you :)
Can u set timers for your lights on the app?? Also never been a tech wis but after starting diy projects and watching people like u my range of knowledge is insane appreciate it u guys are awesome
Amazing video, i have qustion can you connect this chip to google home?
Really great. I'm trying this as soon as my holiday starts! Are you still planning on posting part 2 of this? I would be very interested. Love it!
Do you have any experience with athom controllers? I have some of the exact same leds you use, but im having hell getting them to work correctly. This is my first led project and I cant seem to figure it out.
Hello! What is the name of the effect used in your diy led pannel in this vidéo and thanks.
My inspiration😃
What's the link for the adapter that goes from power supply to the plastic connector??
Awesome! Thanks for the video. When can we expect part 2? *-*-*EDIT*-*-* sine Pt1 was posted over a year ago and no activity on discord is the FLXtv community still around. Are we still getting Pt2 - Advanced guide
Hi. Im using esp32, SK6812 and Switching Converter MASO 5V 60A 300W. when everything put on together in january to test, it was working. now the room is done after renovation, put everything on again and it doesnt work. flashed the esp32 and leds detected on wled but theres no light. what is probably wrong with it? please reply. thanks
Nice! When is part 2 coming out?
is the esp 32 will fit to work with jinx software?
Lights pretty, good video once again keep it up
Hey i followed your tutorial. But instead of connecting it to a terminal + power supply, i simply use a phone charger in the android port for esp32-wroom. Connected vn, grnd and datapin, but is it not lighting up. i have calculated the electricity needed, and set it accordinly in the app. But not even 1 LED is lighting. Could you please help me out by giving me some ideas? also your video is the best one i have seen on LED tuturials. Thanks in advance :)
Would love to see a video of how you did the house. Only saw a glimpse in the beginning. Or maybe just a condensed version of what you needed. Like how many 16ft stirps did you use and how you spliced them together and power supply.

Hey Terry! I think I just replied to you on Instagram but I do plan on doing a “part 2” version on my house when the weather gets better. I installed 5v originally but I’m taking it down to do 12v. Stay tuned! I also recommend you check out DrZZ’s channel. He has a good walkthrough as well. kzread.info
Instead of controlling it with WLED, is there a way to control it with a motherboard header? or corsair IQ, maybe even signal RGB?
Very good
When is the promised part two coming? Would love a more in-depth tutorial! ❤️
I have led strip 5050RGB it its okay to use? In wled?
GREAT VIDEO!! but i got one question... can u connect the ESP32 to mobile hotspot instead of home wifi network? been travelling a lot so having a fix wifi network at home is not convenient for me haha. Thanks!

WLED makes its own acces point network when it can’t find a WiFi network. So you can use acces point mode.
can I control it with alexa/ifft or other?
What are the original preset names on 24:00 and what you call "Cyber Neon"?
can you show how to sync to pc via argb connection on motherboard ? pls
Very informative can i add or sync led movement on music or voice

Yes! There is a way to do it. I haven’t done it yet but I know there is another version of WLED that allows you to do it.
Is Govee compatible ?
please make the same video but using the metal enclosure that you're using :3
Do the boards work with Alexa?
I am going to pick your idea here a bit............. Exactly what size are you hexagon panels? Do you have a link to the STL file you can provide? Are these inside lit or outside? Asking because it looks like these are outside lit... great video too.. Love it.. Just a lot of details are missing...
Very informative, thank you 👍
(Please help) Can you connect WLED to Google home or Alexa
Hey! I connected the ESP32 to my internet and reserved an IP address. But when I try to power it through a powerbrick (and not pc) it says offline in the WLED app. The lights of the ESP32 are blinking so it is getting power. Can someone help me out? Thanks
Hi fam, is the part 2 video out yet ?
Hey dude @II BOBOMOJO II, very detailed, I made some already and planning to make and sell them :)
Si uso una tira de 5 metros de cuanto debe ser la fuente🤔
Him talking about “gaming” setups Me thinking about study setups
So I watched your video on making the nano wall and in the video all your lights was on the outside edge but it looks like you have more strands on lighting in the center of the plexiglass. So did you add more lighting that wasn't on the video?

Thanks man, great tutorial. Regarding your comment of 'how much more you can do than govee', can you elaborate the specifics? Their IC line seems to do everything you've shown plus has the music mic built in to allow for strobing to music. Only downside I see is that they cant be cut shorter. Thanks

FOR VERY LONG LED STRIPS READ THIS So Im doing my room all the way around the trim which comes to about 46ft/14m. Pixels 60/m x 14 840LEDs. A brand called ALITOVE makes a 360w PSU for very cheap on Amazon so make sure you check out high power PSUs for large projects don't just get the 120 or 100w
wait where is part 2 :o?
thanks man!!! this is dumb proof!!!

Nice tutorial! Question, Can i connect it on my pc usb slot to power up instead of using separate power brick or power supply? please reply
@FLXtv
2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can however, you’ll still need to find a way to take the 5v from that USB and run that directly to the +/- as well as have it going to the ESP module. Remember, the ESP module doesn’t supply power to the LEDs. It only supplies the data (green wire) to the LED strip. The power supply supply’s 5v to the ESP module but also needs to supply the power to LEDs. Also if you’re running only off of the 5v from your PC. You won’t be able to make very long strips or have a high pixel density strip.

@@FLXtv Hi. Thanks for the reply. i was thinking of using USB to Type M Barrel 5V DC Power Cable then the terminal connection in the end. As i had a bad experience with metal enclosure power supply when i tried to power up my 5m btf ws2812b then the smoke came out of the connection. All i wanted is to light up the house for xmas not to burn it down lols. i probably bought the wrong power supply.

Yes of course.
I have w2811 which requires 12v of power. Can u recommend any circuit diagram to use the Esp32 since it only support 5V
@FLXtv

You’ll need a 12v to 5v DC step down “buck” converter. Here is a good example for the wiring diagram. This one shows an ESP8266 but really the only difference between it and the ESP32 is the data wire connecting to D2 instead of D4 terminal. images.app.goo.gl/CNYtXtC3KcxcueDW7

Anyone know if part 2 is up??
Any idea if you can use your phone as a hot spot or buy a cheap router and use this software without internet access? New to led lighting and im trying to do a build on my camp ground and have no wifi or internet on the property. thanks!
@FLXtv
Жыл бұрын
Absolutely you can! Basically, the ESP module flashed with WLED casts what’s known as an ‘AP’ (Access Point). It’s a Wi-Fi connection you connect to using your phone just like a regular wi-fi connection but instead of going through a router it’s connecting directly to the ESPxxx module.

@FLXtv thanks for the fast response! Any idea as to if using ap mode would prevent me from using the phone for regular use? Basically trying to see what it'd take to have Two zones over 100' in length each, programmable to sync to the music. One solid flashing color is dull and too old school lol
So if I wanted to use a 12 v strip could I use a buck converter and a single 12 v supply regulated down to 5 v for the eps32? And allow 12 v to be pushed to the strip?

Hi, i followed your instructions. I made to flash the esp32 and when the moment of truth has arrived, i couldn't connect. So i tried to re-flash the esp but i gutted the message: Unexpected error: could not open port 'COM4': Permission Error(13, 'Access is denied.', None, 5) / Do you have any idea how to fix that or i have to buy a new esp32?
