THANK YOU! you just saved me from loosing it because I didn't find these 3 dots- so let me help others too: an update for finding those 3 dots in October 2023- you have to be in your PERSONAL ROOM inside the group, you do that by clicking your name above the video , only then you will see the comments area by the video and it will be there , inside THOSE 3 dots that appear above the comments area...

Hi! I followed your directions which were very easy to understand, but when I open my video in full-screen on my desktop, there are no three dots. It's January 2023, so maybe there's a different way now, but I can't find one that works. Any thoughts or assistance would be greatly appreciated! TIA :)

Catching the replay

Did not work. Aug 18th, 2023. Don't know if they changed it but I tried every possible way of going full screen. Download option isn't in the dropdown menu.

Hello! Only the creator of the video can download it. You can’t download a video you didn’t upload. Hope that helps:

Hello, it has to be your own video. I've tried download someone else's video and it didn't work at that time.

Unfortunately, this does not work for live streams to Facebook from Zoom. Any other suggestions?

Question - I'd like to hire this out. Do you have to be an admin to download the videos?

There's usually a short delay while Facebook processes the video. I would open Meta Creator Studio to see if the video appears in your Published Live Videos library - business.facebook.com/creatorstudio/published?content_table=POSTED_POSTS&post_type=LIVE

Hey mate... do you know how to download someone else video when your in their private group (I have paid for a course). Because this method you just shared doesn't work when they are not your video's. Cheers

Hello! Facebook doesn’t allow you to download someone else’s content, only your own.

It's so frustrating how Facebook updates this stuff every 3 months. 🤬 HOWEVER I just realized that the livestream distributor I was using, Restream, actually allows me to download my video so even though I can't get it out of Facebook, because I originally recorded it through Restream, I'm able to get my video. 👍🏻

@@MichaelDamond I mean... probably FB is bound and determined to retain people in the app, so I guess that's why they would remove downloads. It's so annoying though. Like in my case, I recorded a live to a private group that I use as a test... and then I wanted to move it to another FB group. So I wasn't even going to leave the FB ecosystem but... meh whatever. It's so tedious. haha

*I've used the mobile version (chrome) of 2024, and the new way to download is to hold the video*

Shoot, I wonder why. this doesn't work for me. I'm on a laptop MacBook Pro 2019.. I wonder if this is a problem because of the kind of computer I have? Or my settings? Nothing I do enables the 3 dots to show me a download option. When I click to full screen it has no 3 dots anymore 😆🤪

Hmm, I just checked and mine still works. A friend found an external tool to download her videos. I’ll ask about it and come back here to share the link. I haven’t personally used it but it worked for her.
