I WAS LIKE LMAOOOO somthing is wrong with this sheep

It works perfectly. The observer works a state machine. When the grass block changes it activates the redstone and then, the redstone activates the dispenser.

This tutorial was very helpful. I did have some small difficulties getting the sheep in the farm in survival.

if youre underground you have to put a second grass block next to grass block under sheep so the grass grows back

​@@Tazocani believe that is due to the game's random tick speed, or you built the farm wrong, with the grass block being underneath the one with the sheep on it, is not entirely your fault because it wasn't mentioned in the video.

if anyone is having issue with the wool staying on the surface just put on the fist hoper the rail and then put the minecart on top of the hopper without removing the rail.

If you use a Redstone clock instead of the observer this can work with mob griefing off too

For 1.21 in pretty sure you need a lever behind the redstone and have it always on

Love this. I was scratching my head for a bit because the grass wasn't updating.... I had mob griefing turned off... Enderman really annoy me and their block moving shenanigans. Turns out sheep eating grass is counted as mob griefing so the block doesn't update to dirt. Yes, I forehead slapped myself. I expanded it to 16 cells of different colours with hoppers under the hopper minecart running to the collection area. I went overboard with my iron farm so figured I may as well use it for something.

It works with mob griefing off if you use a Redstone clock instead of the observer. You can make an easy Redstone clock with two observers facing each other

What texture pack you use for the mobs?

warped wood trapdoor in place of the slab fixed it for me

I tried using it with 1 sheep per block, 2 blocks per cage and redstone for shearing did not work

Pls tell me what texture pack you using to mobs

Quick solution, very useful to make beds and use for nether mining ⛏️ or using in iron farm

hopper minecarts can grab items thru blocks, normal hoppers cant

Check if your hopper isnt powered in anyway, if it is, its blocked and wont allow any items to go through. Also check if the hopper is facing into the chest

I can not get the wool to go into the chest, I don’t know why it is not going in there. I did the thing where people said to just place a rail onto the hopper and then put the minecart there so the rail won’t break, but I did that, and it still is not working? I don’t understand.

The rail doesn’t need to be there, only the hopper mine cart and the hopper underneath of it

The hopper mine cart is for pulling the wool through the grass block, and the regular hopper should be connected to your chest, underneath the hopper mine cart

okay so the dispenser won’t sheer the sheep once it’s fur has grown back, yes i used a lever and a redstone torch but it’s like i actually have to press the lever instead of it being manual… anyone got any tips/know what to do?? and no the dispenser won’t sheer the sheep by itself (i have no idea why) i’m playing on switch btw

it does not active when the sheep eats the grass

The grass doesn’t disappear when the sheep eats it on mine, it worked for like an hour then stopped. Any solutions?

you're probably using a dropper and not a dispenser. Dropper blocks has a smiley face and can be crafted without a bow, while dispenser blocks has a surprised-like face and it's crafted with a bow Droppers just throw whatever item is inside it's inventory. While dispensers also have that function, dispensers can also place/ignite/use specific items, namely buckets, water buckets, shears, flint and steel and more

On ps4 bedrock, the grass won’t grow back there fore no wool, tips?

The grass block has to be surrounded by other grass blocks so that grass can spread

It doesn’t seem to work on xbox, i followed it fully and the sheep isn't getting sheared at all

I had that problem. But I forgot to put the redstone dust on the ground behind the dropper. Just replying in case it helps.

Make sure there's more grass touching the block that they eat otherwise grass can't spread

No the grass grows faster for the sheep to eat and regain its wool in the sun

@@noczyy Can *some* of the grass simply be touched by the sun and through a glass for it to be faster? By using grass which is picked through silk touch all of them will be regenerated regardless if touched by sun, I have read somewhere though that if blocks are connected to the above grass which is touched by the sun till underground also works as a way to keep it all alive.

Anyone know why the wool would just sit on the surface instead of dropping into the hopper on bedrock 1.20?

dont place the minecart with hopper like him. just put a rail on top of the hopper and place the minecart with hopper there with the grass above it

There has to be a hopper minecart under the grass block on top of the hopper

You should have a grass block next to it only if there are grass blocks connecting each other it will gorw

The wool is getting stuck in the hopper and not going in the chest

This was 7 days ago as of my reply. You have probably fixed it by now, but just in case, make sure you are looking at the chest from behind with the hopper and shift/click it onto the chest. If the hopper is pointing the wrong way IE: not connected, you won't get flow...

HELP please!! This is the second type of these I have made. And on both types my sheep dont get sheered. Im a new player and totally oblivious so if anyone knows the answer, please speak as if im a toddler. (Im 52 lol) everything seems to drop fine and end up in the chest. But the only time the sheep get sheered is if i do it manually.

@@macaphony4320 I had a dispenser. It wasn't working. That was the problem. I had several sheers in the dispenser. The problem was actually with my mob griefing.

I was even around for the beginning of WoW and a few others. Older people game too. I actually didn't start gaming until my 30s but a lot of people my age have been gaming since they were kids. My generation is probably the first real generation of gamers.

Maybe place the rail and minecart directly on the hopper (the collection thing) instead of on a temporary block

It aint even cutting my sheeps wool and it refuses to eat. Ive been sitting here waiting for minutes (EDIT: I GOT IT WORKING!! Follow the steps as the tutorial says and make sure the rail isnt facing sideways and make sure its facing towards the chest like in the vid!! Also my sheep were just bugging, thats why they werent eating lol)

Have you used just a normal minecart? You need to use a minecart with hopper. I’ve made the same mistake before

Don’t make 16 of these, just make 4, one for white sheep, brown, black and grey. You can then sell these wool to shepherds and bye the other coloured wool or the dyes so you can make them yourself.

Make sure the railing for the cart hopper was facing towards the observer and not sideways before breaking the support block, i had the same issue and this fixed it.

@kitonamilol539 Yep the game is stupid like that. Putting a hopper into minecarts should not increase the hopper's power. Just make it mobile. But it does both. Thankfully, a recent duplication glitch saved me from wasting my much needed minecarts at the time.

I luckily had an iron farm before following this tut so i was good to go on the minecarts Would be cool if a normal hopper was also capable of getting items through full blocks but we can dream i guess. On PS4 bedrock, that sheep takes a long time to regen the wool, cuz the grass takes a long time to regen (I guess?). Literally 4 wool in 10 mins. Easy peezy build, but imma need it to do better than that. Solution?
