Easiest Way to Catch Winter Bass From Bank or Boat - Tightlining
Спорт
Tightlining has been something we've done in Upper East Tennesse for a very long time. Must longer than there was ever the thought of foward facing sonar. This little winter cheat code has prduced numbers of bass and some big bass when nothing else will. You can fish this from the bank or the boat in the winter by adjusting your weight and retrive. Tightlining for winter bass will help you CATCH MORE FISH!

For me the jerkbait is my juice for the winter months and after I get a school fired up and feeding I thien throw different baits of the same shade and color to catch more fish like jigs, soft swimbaits, lipless/blade baits and many more.

#100percentwatchsquad Really great video, Hank! Lots of solid info here. I think that the problem some anglers might have is being a bit heavy-handed when it comes to tight lining and try to force it. I've found that it often takes a bit of a softer touch. That's what works best for me at least. If I get in a hurry or try to be too rough with it, I don't get nearly as many bites.

I’ve been tight lining a darter head like this for years. Horizontal line tie, bait sits horizontal. Work good in a pinch. I like the dirty jigs head now.

Have you tried the "hover rig" style of rigging this? Either the actual hover rig hook weighted hook or the 90deg bend hook with a nail weight?
@BassGeek
7 ай бұрын
I have and in shallower water it’s great. I don’t know that it really gets more bites than just a jig head. NOW all that being said I fish some very deep lakes and they don’t make heavy enough weights to get down 60ft. Which is where the bass are right now and in the summer for me
We have.alewife in out local lake bass follow them 60 to 90 feet deep

@BassGeek

Yeah it is but I wish they would make them heavier. The lakes I fish right now I’m catching them 60ft down that just don’t work for me
What water temp does it become #1 in? Seems like its a bait to use in jerkbait water when they arent hitting a jerkbait because its too calm. That sound right?
@BassGeek
7 ай бұрын
Yeah you can use it EVEN when they they are eating a jerkbait. It will get you more bites because it subtle. However yeah it's a great bait when it just gets so cold they don't want to chase at all.
How long you let a lure sit before you pop rod tip or do you pop rod tip as it falls? Could you get a little more in depth with this tightlining technique?
@BassGeek
7 ай бұрын
As soon as it hits the bottom pop, reel, shake
What is the depth cutoff for you when you switch from 1/8 to 1/4 oz? Tried the damiki for the first time today in mostly 7-10ft of water, and felt like 1/4 fell way too fast.
@BassGeek
7 ай бұрын
Yeah for sure way too fast. This depends on a lot but this is a general rule of thumb based on how fast the bass are moving, wind, and/or current. 1/8 0-15 1/4 15-30 3/8 25-35 (there will be some overlap 1/2 30-45 3/4 40-55 and 1oz 50+

Where was the bank fishing portion?!
@BassGeek
7 ай бұрын
It all aplies to the bank. The only real difference for fishing it from the bank is what I was saying about the rod and leader. It's always closer to the bottom bassed on the steaper the bank and the angle of the cast. It's not like it that much difference from bank to boat.
I’ve only watched the first minute, but I hope you’re going to explain why that guy is peeing on your motor.
