Grass grows forever. The advantage of planting it instead of just mowing random grass is that you can take care of it (weed, fertilize, spray etc.) and increase the yield. That'll probably be way more grass than your sheep will ever need, so then you can just bale and wrap it for sale as silage and get those extra stacks coming in.

I'd rather get more sheep to eat it then. Sileage through grass is God damn slow and labor intensive. I'd rather use corn with the other harvester type. Fills a trailer faster then you can dump it in a bunker. Which can hold stupid amounts of Sileage. Luckily in this game you can place bunkers and cow pens reducing travel time.

Gray, watch Keralis's logging video, you can use the cutter to cut them right into the trailer so you can cut out using the loader to pick logs up off the ground. Eliminating that step saves a lot of time and money since you don't really need the wheel loader.

You can maximize your wood handling by getting them tip-to-tip and make a sliding motion forward and backward along the wood.

I thought about that. Haven’t tried it yet but I was wondering if you can grab the tree and after cutting it and trimming it straight in to the trailer . Eliminating the second step of picking them back up. Pretty new to the game started the basics just harvesting grains and stuff.

The grass is probably infinite because you’re basically just mowing the lawn, you know how the grass always grows back. You’re not actually killing the plant.

I have played or watched youtube videos on farming sim since farming sim 13, and i have to say. you have the least idea of anyone i have ever met playing this game, but my goodness are you funny. Keep up the great work Grey! :-)

There are a lot of these tree farms out on the drive west to Ventura CA on the 126 They are super cool to see. Some trees are incredibly massive and it's just a sea of them.

In Oklahoma we have a bunch of places with trees planted and grown like this but they aren't for tree farming. There were used back in the day to block the wind and dust storms from ruining the crops back during the "Dust Bowl" days. If you look up Parallel Forest you'll see them, it's a very beautiful place but growing up there were always stories about them about how they are cursed or used for rituals yadda yadda.

Gary real nice video, very original ways of stacking loads. There is a mod out making possible you can grab everything what is normally to heavy, like pallets and tractors. It can be found on dieseldesign last FS video :D

You can use a conveyer belt set-up to feed there grass back into the through. Same setups as in FS 17 builds.

Oh hey, I'm over in south Florida too. We've got a few tomato farms and some like...bee farms, there's landscaping places that sell the trees but I've never really seen just a ton of trees all packed together to be cut and sold.

front loader bucket works for grass, wheel loader bucket can hold a lot and cheaper than forage wagon load the grass into a trailer with the loaders it's not as fast but way cheaper

There’s a good chance of ever seen and I want to watch all of them and thank you great for making this one channel

One of the maps in an older game had some sort of concrete trench or overflow tank for scenery, I parked my trunk trailer in that and drove my scorpion above it, made it so easy to churn in the money

The only tree farm I ever recall seeing in my life was one for conifers. Specifically around early winter. Let's just say that my parent's house has a really large living room that would accommodate an 18ft arboreal decorated corpse. But it was a bit weird that the trees were uniform.

Mowing grass is so quick with a forage harvester, a large forage harvester header that cuts grass, and a massive trailer. You cut multiple rows and collect it into a trailer simultaneously. I sold my mowers and windrower when I used this method for the first time. If you want to make hay, just dump your full trailer onto the ground and then run over the large pile with a tedder. You're welcome.

Forestry: Park the trailer at the end of the "short" rows then drive the cutter back and forth as to avoid the stumps... Also get a stump cutter/remover before replanting Sheep: Get a windrower to stack the CUT grass lines into one big row so you can pick it up faster/more efficiently Hopefully this helps grey!

I live in Uwharrie forest NC& we have TONS of tree farms. Hwy 109& Bringle Ferry Road has several of them. &the saw mill is like 2 miles down the road. &you were correct (on your last video I think). I don’t know about the sawmill- but you legally wouldn’t be able to drive with the trees all crooked like that. &you have to staple a big red or orange flag to the end of the stump that hangs out furthest so people know how close to get to you. Edit: and then you drive with a tree basically hanging out the back of your truck xD yea, you wouldn’t even be allowed to leave the spot the trucks parked in with it like that lmfao

I have an uncle that runs one of those logging machines, when he runs the trees through the deal to get rid of the branches it literally LAUNCHES a whole tree.

Put 2 logs going one way as a base, then when you start stacking the logs, put them across the first 2 logs so they cross the first 2 logs and are supported on the both ends, then you can get your loader forks under the logs better.

Go to a gay bar to get a lot of wood to practice

We have loads of them in central Florida, you probably just didn't realize what they were. People buy acres and plant pine trees on them then by the time their kids are adults, boom, they inherit a shiny tree farm. That's why we have random patches of "pine forest" in the middle of the swamps.

2:34 oh and here I thought, you're trying to line a shot in a game of billiards, with a goddamn tree

When you use the scorpion to cut the logs directly into the log trailer, the trailer has to be lined up so park about 50 ft away perpendicular to your tree line. With a little practice, it is the fastest way I've found.

Palm trees have very wide roots compared to a lot of trees as they often have to anchor in soft sand, I'm guessing whatever those trees are have more vertical roots
