Great! Yes I have seen the tricks before, but not this close up. I think I had seen Eddie do the elephant trick on VanHalen Live without a net tour on VH1, back in the days with Sammy Hagar back stage before the actual concert. They (the whole band) were interviewed together and separately from what I remember. But I do remember Eddie and the rest of the guys in the dressing room and Eddie showed off the Horse and Elephant trick, very cool. By the way, where did you get that awesome guitar? You have the Eddie sound dialed in very good too, what amp are you using? During your examples, were you using any effects? Keep up the good work..................Cheers!

@johnnybeane Allow me to make a correction. He's actually using a form of muting on Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do. But instead of palm muting he backs clear up to the bridge and mutes the string very lightly with his pinkie. Try it sometime. Palm muting makes the note too chunky, but using the pinkie it cuts the note short without killing the tone.

@johnnybeane Hmm...so are you hitting a pinch harmonic on the G string 2nd fret or G/B strings together at 2nd fret? Also, are you palm muting and strumming up from the A string beforehand in order to get that "tortured" sound? I guess i'm going for that scream like he gets in Everybody Wants Some...

how about teaching the kramer era 85-89 signature dive instead, where eddie first does that basic dive, then catches some neats harmonics? you know, for example, on black and blue and pretty much on ou812 album itself

i love how most of the frankenstrat copies are kramers even though the original frankenstrat wasn't a Kramer. just interesting to me.

That's because he was with Kramer at the time and they built a lot of guitars based off the Frankie.

Interesting, used to do the 'horse' sound to annoy our pet cat. Sent it nuts looking for "the puss puss" but never knew anyone used it as a technique until seeing this vid? Yes, distortion pedal but I just used a simple and cheap Profile OVD-5 pedal and roll the volume on then slowly off while releasing trem then quick vibrato meeeeeeooowwwwwwwoowoowoo sorta ... oh well, one of those things you stumble upon in those boring practise sessions that you come up with I guess. At least the cat enjoyed it ???
