To all " real trout fisherman " , ha ya don't need a pricey " fly rod and reel " to catch BIG trout ! Most of us use a light rod and a 1000 / or a 2500SSVI size reel and a 4' 6"" / 6' light action rods. Not too run down " real trout guys ", this video shows ya can catch " big trout " with a spinning out fit and stuf you can get at any store ! Even use yer lunch !. Ha-ha. We used to pick wild strawberries and use them in the early 2000s for bait. It caught alot of Chubs, but the trout bit sometimes too

These were all old school ways to catch trout before powerbait. The days of the good old christmas tree and shasta fly. Combos of store bought baits. They still work like you showed but powerbait works more consistently.
