Easee One Review - is this the most versatile EV charger yet?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Like the Vikings that came before it, the Easee One has travelled all the way down from Norway to the UK. But rather than looting villages, Easee is here to bring us a sleek and simple charge point that can be either tethered or untethered.
But being able to switch between tethered and untethered is not the only unique quality. In this Easee One review, our editor Danny checks out the build quality, app features, ease of use and more to find out if the Easee One is the most versatile ev charger yet and most importantly, if it's the right charge point for you.
To give you a peace of mind, we want you to know that our reviews are based on hundreds of product feedback comments from our own customers. So, as well as doing our own testing, you can be sure these are not just our opinions but the opinions of our customers.

Why is no one talking about the fact that the Easee Equalizer option (Essentially a wireless smart CT clamp) is north of £400. This functionality is included in other units as standard.

Not sure either, I have been looking for comments about this for ages as my electrician just mentioned it to me. You can install a cheaper box that does something similar for less than half the price.

Maybe because it isn’t £400? Do some research before commenting maybe?

You don't necessarily need a driveway. Depends on your circumstances, as some people have allocated parking etc. If you request a quote on our website, and complete the online site survey then we will be able to advise what's possible.

So tethered just means a type 2 cable is plugged in all the time? How does that differ to any untethered EVSE?

  • @dmorgsev

    @dmorgsev

    Жыл бұрын

Hi Neil, untethered charge points typically don't allow you to lock the cable in place when the vehicle is NOT on charge. Whereas the Easee One, and some other new untethered charge points, allow you to lock the cable in place at all times. So, regardless of whether you prefer tethered or untethered, a product like this allows both.

@@SmartHomeCharge Ah! Of course. Lol I live in a flat and have a parking space. No idea how much it would cost to get a cable from my meter to my parking space. So depressing.

so you need to buy a cable for another £240 to properly price this one?

  • @SmartHomeCharge

No, not necessarily. Many EVs come with a charging cable as standard so most drivers use that. In cases, where an EV does not come with the cable then you would need to factor in the cost of a cable purchase - but we recommend drivers purchase a cable for use with public chargers anyway even if their charger has one attached. So either the car comes with one and you won't need to purchase a cable separately, or it doesn't and so you'd probably want to get a cable anyway.

You should perhaps remove this review. There is a sales stop on this for time beeing in Scandinavia since it does not fullfill electricity security protocols. The company will likely go belly-up

They have, but this version of Easee One is made only for UK only and as built in pen protection, Norway you need a separate RCD box fitted before the house fuse box which was the problem.

Where on earth have I said "insulation"? I doubt it and if I have, then it is obviously just a mispronunciation and I would mean installation, so you're just being unnecessarily difficult. P.S. I think you also mean "you're" and not "your". You're not filling me with confidence that you aren't actually here just to wind people up. If you don't like the free information, leave quietly and go elsewhere. I won't mind.
