If I was this guy, I would have all the pictures in my house slightly tilted to the side.

Question Jim. If your sycophants are reading this while they keep you afloat, how do they do live? You try to fill theaters. Do they fill closets?

Yeah, Kiwi here, we have a shit tonne of earthquakes here Jim, the New Zealand is bang on the Pacific Ring of Fire. However, Christchurch is on the other side of the of the South Island rangers from the tectonic plate and was not known to be on a fault line until a large - non deadly - earthquake hit the city about 4 months before the deadly one. Because there was no knowledge of that fault there was no earthquake legislation in the building code and also a lot of historical brick buildings. The February earthquake was shallow and liquefied the earth, giving those old brick buildings no solid earth to rest on and the bricks had no flexibility. Christchurch was seriously unprepared, but everywhere I have lived in the North Island has had strict building codes for decades regarding earthquakes. If I remember geology from high school correctly (25 years ago!) I think NZ was even a major testing ground for earthquake resistant building technologies? Some incredible life saving building practices were engineered here. It was just so sad - and somewhat ironic - these technologies were never building practice before Christchurch was decimated.... can someone PLEASE remind me of the name of that bloody dog! I have been trying to remember it for many shows now and it has got to the point of distraction from what people are saying on the show! Such a cutie, such a cuddler, I'm just pissed I can't remember his name!
Your show in Atlanta last Saturday was spectacular, thanks for a great first experience at a stand-up show
Today is tomorrow's yesterday. Thanks Jim. 🍁
15:07 when Forrest shakes the desk harder ahahaha, that had me!!!
Tell Jim to check the expiry date on any perishables in his Earthquake kit. Usually have a date.
Jim used to ask the guest questions to be able to guess what they do. Now he just guesses what they do without asking any questions lol. Either way it's entertaining but the game part of me is like ask questions lmao Love the pod
Saw you guys in Durham on Thursday and you rocked , thanks for making my week 💕
Burr played Warsaw, Poland, a few years ago and loved it. You have got to come here one day.
"a bit shakey" I howled laughing 😂
5 of 10 on knowledge . I would say more than that . And I ya can run into an open field you will find much less falling debris/houses collapsing on you.
15:47 Forrest goes "mkay" because it sounded like Jim hadn't finished aha
Jim was on his way to a fantastic ending, but Forest had to derail it. What a shame. I love Jim's word salads.
If you haven’t seen it, watch the clip from the stadium when all the lights go out during the game. It was really spooky. During the big one in SF, I was little and at a friends and sleeping on top of the bunk bed and her dad ran in to make sure I didn’t fall out. All I remember in the morning was being excited to eat Cookie Crisp, everything being sorta askew and the news blaring. The complex next to us was collapsed and I was too young to understand. We had a minor one a few years back and streets opened up. There’s weird things too you gotta be careful of, like not hanging anything above your bed unless it a marshmallow essentially, and strapping boOkshelves and stuff to the wall. Adding: I do know there’s research showing birbs react beforehand with natural disasters like quakes or tsunamis and will subvert their flight path or take off. My cat definitely reacts and starts acting funny beforehand or with major changes in barometric pressure. Also, there’s video of skyscrapers in Japan and also China and you can see them breathing. It looks terrifying, but is purposeful to withstand high winds.
That dog is so chill. I bet he/she sleeps ~22 hrs a day. 😁
glad i only listen to these, faces for radio for sure.
I would respectfully disagree with you about NZs readiness for earthquakes. We are on the ring of fire and had earthquake drills growing up constantly. We also have a strong building code designed to protect life in earthquakes. There was only large-scale loss of life in 2 buildings and one of those it was later discovered was designed by an architect who faked their qualification and wasn't built to standard.
God damnit… now I’ll have to buy a ticket to one of Jim’s shows just to hold up a sign that Johnny Cash doesn’t suck… THANKS JIM! xD
2:34 "Minnesipie!"
In our part of the world the plates are being affected by the shifting of weight due to ice movement.
Brilliant show in Atlanta! Thanks guys
Yall should watch the movie The Core, its a fun sorta sci-fi about having to go to the center of the earth. Your buddy DJ Qualls is one of my favourite people in the movie!
Merman, love the name as it reminds me of Zoolander lol
If you knew what he knew about Earthquakes... you'd never sit in a chair either. Four-legged coffins.
oh, btw, laws are slightly different here in Spain but hit me up and I will take care of all your edibles, home baked
In spanish we actually have words for the day after tomorrow and the day before yesterday. Antier - Ayer - Hoy - Mañana - Pasadomañana. Yup. No one asked me!
Just fyi; the Loma Prieta quake was wide ranging and one of the biggest I’ve ever been through as a Californian. The cars that were parked in the gravel and dirt area outside of my home were bouncing crazily and the trees looked like they were dancing. Don’t stand next to a vehicle during an earthquake!

It was really scary! I was young, but that day is cemented in my mind much like 9. 11 was. I even remover eating Cookie Crisp which was a treat because I wasn’t allowed to have it normally. The house was askew and I knew the energy eas weird, but I didn’t know exactly what happened. The news was blaring, and all the adults were sorta pacing. My friends dad ran to my room as I was sleeping on the top bunk, bless his heart. The complex next door was collapsed and I asked about it but the adults didn’t really explain it to me. Not sure if you ever saw the footage from the game. Still gives me chills seeing it.
Will be booking UK date. Any smaller venues? hate going to Manchester arena and end up watching the screens to see the act..
Jim, I went to see Eddie Izzard (Doing his routine in French) in an 800 seater in Paris, as I walked out,, absolutely everyone was speaking English. Book the gig, they will come! I will force at least 15 people to go!
Where is your North Sydney Bear cap ?
"Interviewed Brad" at 1:26. Which one? Brad Green (former Aussie Rules Football player) or Brad Pitt....? (the latter, no explanation needed ahaha). Or another Brad?
You are welcome to Poland, won't be disappointed.
Buzzing that theres a UK tour
kelly seems like she would be very fun to hang out with

Great episode.
I literally spat out my coffee when Forrest shook the table at 15:07 ahaha
Any chance you’re dropping by Trondheim while in Norway? It’s our third largest city, so if you’re doing several shows here, why not Trondheim as well? Come, come, come🙂
dutchsinse on KZread has an earthquake prediction model that is incredible. "9/13/2022 -- Earthquakes spreading as expected to China, Iran, Japan, Chile, and West Coast USA" is his latest video, at the moment.
This guy was prescient about Turkey 54:30
Ahhhhhh so get this I just listened to the time episode but it was out of sequence between dreams and gut health so not only am I jumping around your past but I can write this to you in my future… maybe you’ll laugh, maybe you’ll tear me up in comment world but I might not make it to where your reading this to ever know. either way I love your show it makes the long trucking days in Canada good fun when I’m bored.
Ever coming to New Orleans?
again, why is ten always the best?
Thank you for all the episodes. I listen while painting again like I did two years ago. I have another episode suggestion gardening and farmer markets.

Come to Spain... The canary Islands!!
I honestly enjoyed earthquakes in Los Angeles and San Diego the building's I rented were build up to code. One time it started rocking I went out on the balcony and watched the wave's go through the sky scraper. Still sucks that humans have to die by cheap as third world building's. Presidents like Erdogan should invest in Inverstructur and not build airports, bridges, and road's.
The monetisation of this specific episode was insufferable, an ad every 5 minutes.
