EarthQuaker Devices Life Pedal V3 Demo
Музыка
Guitar and Baritone demo of the crushing collaboration between Sunn O)) and EarthQuaker Devices, the Life Pedal V3.
Available at The Pedal Zone shop: thepedalzone.com/life-pedal-v3/
Life Pedal V3 merges iconic Op-Amp Distortion, analog octave up and a powerful clean boost for a bone-breakingly loud and brutal distortion tone that will sustain until the end of days. The latest iteration of this tonal trifecta features slightly tweaked circuitry, especially on the octave side of things where a dedicated Bypass switch now lets you bring in extra grinding and biting doom on command.

It reminds me of Washington DC band I saw one time called Black Clouds.
One of the reason I like your channel is because sometimes you come up with the best melodies I've ever heard. The sound you started at about 3:05 is unforgettable.
Stefan, this might be a strange thing to say but I noticed the tone of this review to be quite different. It felt like before you were delivering a prepared speech. This feels like you're having a conversation with us. I love it. I don't want you to see this as a diss at your previous stuff - it's not and I love it dearly, but this new direction you seem to be taking, whether consciously or subconsciously, is awesome. It feels warmer, more personal.
absolute genius move to automate the octave section. i would have never thought to do anything remotely like that. killer demo and creative/unique as always. ⚔️🖤

You are a wizard ! Using a pedal marketed for doom and insanly heavy stuff but using it as an ambient marvelous machine... The jam at 2:50 is so inspiring and awesome !!

So good to hear and watch this my friend. I love how this pedal can go from Cold War jamming station to harmonic bells in your hands. Good that it's been added to the regular set of EQD pedals to move it on from all the previous hype. Truly versatile, awesome and inspired playing! ❤️

Wow it works so well with that baritone. damn. So tempting. brilliant for that sludgy saturated Holy Fawn style sound I’d imagine but the octave and those lower gain tones make this super interesting

Love to watch your videos Stefan but this past school semester kept me busy from guitar in general. Having a great time watching all that I missed the past few months. I have watched a lot of music gear reviews / demos and you are by far the most skilled and talented ive seen when it comes to just pure songwriting and getting the most out of everything you demo. All the best.

Whenever I am considering a new pedal, I am always hoping you have a vid on it. But this video was something else man. It is like your Enzo vid, but even better in my opinion. That jam really connected with me on a very emotional level. It has also inspired me. You are incredibly talented, and I appreciate your videos so much.
Oooof! This pedal really kicks you where it hurts! But wait, in your hands, you tease out the subtleties and intricacies of a pedal that would, in other people's hands, be turned to 11 and stay there. Your emotional and musical maturity and integrity always shine out when you dial things back a little. But, what a versatile pedal, this has made my Saturday morning better, thank you Stefan.

@ThePedalZone yeah sadly they broke up.. still one of my favorites. it's so cool to hear you know them! so you also know Bands like EF, pg.lost etc I suppose? because of EF i got into the whole scene really and started guitar :)
You just had to make amazing music again, didn't you? Now I see how important it is to not watch your videos as pedal demos. Which they are, and excellent ones at that, but you just cut straight to the heart of what these devices can do, and the stuff that you make in the process is so musical and sensible, that I just can't help but wish I had the pedal that you use by the end of most of your videos. And that's dangerous! Because of course gear is not the most important thing, and I already have most of the things that I really need and my budget is quite limited. It's just that you have a rare and precious talent of making the most (or perhaps it's better to say "the best") out of the gear that you like, and your overall attitude to them elevates your videos from tech demos to inspiration machines. In a way, it seemed to me at first that you're giving this gear too much justice, but then I just realized that this is how this type of media really should be done. With a human heart, respect to ingeneering discoveries and an uncompomising pursuit of beauty. Thank you, that's very admirable!
Man, I didn't really understand the hype behind this pedal as all I saw of it is being used as a doom machine with a bonus of octave. But you really did make me think again on this pedal with this excellent demo, I might have santa reconsider my christmas present........ Also a somewhat random question, are you planning to cover Boss SL-2? I remember you covering SL-20 on your channel and that Pedal has always been sitting at the back of my mind because of it(Thanks 😂), Im really curious about your view on the new release.
