i will discuss that in my next lecture but S1 is seismic Zone coeficent (z) value and SS is 2.5 times of Z. i think you should complete our next lecture,, it will clear everything.

@@tapankuet he have calculated the value according to Graph. and 0.2 ist for PGArock According to BNBC Code. peak ground acceleration (PGA) for hard rock is 0.2. BNBC 2017 Art 2.5.4.2 Seismic zoning see that article for good concept. actually the value of Z is the value of PGA. Each zone has a seismic zone coefficient (Z) which represents the maximum considered peak ground acceleration (PGA) on very stiff soil/rock (site class SA) in units of g (acceleration due to gravity). (according to BNBC 2017 Art 2.5.4.2 Seismic zoning)

100% of DL ( with self wt of structure) and 25 or 50 % of LL as per BNBC or ASCE.
