Earth X was really dope story. One of my favorite Parts was seeing how Bruce Banner in the whole kind of separated and you saw that gorilla version of The Hulk and Bruce was on top of him. I don't know why I like that version it definitely Captain America story in this Trilogy was very intriguing. Alex Ross definitely is a master at what he does even with the writing ass that he does create some amazing covers I just wish you would do another miniseries if you drew from start to finish the entire story it's been a long time I would love to see him do like that miniseries for marvel or dc

It really doesn't get enough recognition.

I did not realise how much of the artwork JP did for this. I found his art just before his passing and I absolutely adore it, will try to find a copy of this. Jp was a master of black and felt like a modern day toth to me, creature of the night is fantastic. Did you back the winter men artist edition? I absolutely cannot wait for that to arrive so I can study from it!

NOW that's awesome to hear. I'm sure you are excited that they are doing two omnis to cover this massive event, including all the extras and never before seen art.

You mentioned that the tpb messed up the series. How so? I have all the tpb's but haven't gotten to read them yet so am on still on the fence about getting it.

It was the paper and the binding issues they had. Mine literally fell apart.

Is this a complete story that is able to stand alone or is the Omega part necessary to end the story? Thanks!!

You ever hear about that giant Earth X “clamshell” edition put out by Graphiti Designs back in 2001? I just found it for great price. You think it’s better package than this omnibus? Is Universe X worth it?

This KILLS me! I got this custom bound last year, and now they release this?! The only consolation I'm clinging to is I got all three arcs as separate volumes: it looks to me like the omega omnibus is going to look weird next to this alpha. Dunno why they didn't release it as three volumes...

You must not have had any issue with the binding on yours. With mine, the outside cover kept adhering to the sewn binding. I didn't pay attention to it at first after I had properly stretched the book, which caused a little crinkling to the spine cover. I had to force separation between the two at the half-way point and kept having to force that separation as I was turning the pages.to one end or the other. It still doesn't have that nice eyehole yet like my other Omni's. A little disappointed there but the content is what I'm excited about anyway.

So am I the only one who’s had multiple pages glued together at the edges in multiple spots in the book? It’s very frustrating, as it’s causing some pretty serious damage to unstick them, pulling off the colors and art once they are unstuck. Heard of this happening to anyone else?

Is this the first Earth X omnibus? Are more coming out?

I’ve done videos on my top 10 marvel and top 10 dc omnibus. Also a top 10 x-men in collected editions. I made those videos when the books were in print. So people wouldn’t be worried about running out and trying to find super expensive whales. If those don’t help let me know.

so the Earth X and Paradise X by Alex Ross back in the day has nothing to do with this?

This is THAT trilogy. All he did was the covers and character designs.

Nice stuff. Do you have the Batman Arkham Saga Omnibus ? Apparently that's DCs biggest book yet.

I do not. But I think the page count on Infinite Crisis and the Final Crisis omni have a bigger page count.

@@NearMintCondition Arkham is 1,600 pages. Some of these books are crazy now. Personally I prefer them at less than 1,000 pages.

Because I’m Batman! I actually really like John Paul Leon. I know that to a lot of people he’s no Alex Ross, and yeah, this is recognizably earlier work from him, but I still think the art was the highlight of Earth X.

Near Mint Condition Yeah I tried to read it as it was coming out. I definitely lost the thread a little after the third issue because of the delays on the fourth, but it was absolutely gorgeous. A worthy successor to Immonen’s work on Secret Identity.

lol I just want to let people know... man this is an older video.

I ignored this series after learning Ross didn't do the art, but I missed the fact that Leon did the art. I like him as much if not more than Ross, so I'll have to read this at some point. After liking Leon's art (mainly as a guest penciller in early 2000s), I wondered what else he did.

You need to read the Batman Creature of the Night. It was one of my favorite reads last year. It has his art.

Doug Braithwaite did universe X and Paradise X, he's pretty good rather than Ross!

I can't wait to read both of those. Seeing as how I've only read Earth X years ago. His art is amazing in general..the saving grace of that horrible Wolverine Origins series, but nothing like Justice when Ross painted over his pencils.

I don't know how to feel about this omni. I like the idea, but the saga felt too long to me. DC did Kingdom Come in like what 4 or 5 Prestige format issues. Earth X,Universe X, and Paradise X were 12 issues for each series. For me I just lost interest in this story. because of it's length and because some of the characters had absolutely no relation to the original like Daredevil. I know that the DC story was different from this, but it felt like Marvel wanted to capitalize on Kingdom Come. I'd still read this, but would have liked the collection to be in one omni instead of 2

I agree. It could have all fit in one omni. But Marvel knows how to cash in on the name Alex Ross and throwing in that extra material.

James, that was lighting speed fast, brother.

Marvel loves to catfish you with great art on the cover and doodles in the interior .. This art ain't bad but it aint great either.. Alex ross should have done the art .. Maybe someone can convince to re-release this with his art throughout the book (wishful thinking)

It's not for everyone that's for sure. I think the second half with Universe X is stronger.
