I used to love being one with nature, wood fire cooking and totally getting away from modern conveniences. Then I became disabled and that part of my life totally stopped. You never think that you’re going to wake up I’ll and never get better. Live it while you can

Some sixty years ago I would take to the forest and swamps of Michigans lower peninsula to cleanse my soul of the troubles beholding a young man's world of school and the days lost in trivial pursuit. Oh those were the times of my life. It freshens the memory and gives peace of mind to this old man.

I get so emotional watching this video. Allthough this looks like the perfect life for some. I can barely escape the society as it is. As a 30 year old man doing what with his life? I have not built a personal space where I could be the one I want/need to be. Trapped in limbo in todays world trying to find myself and pinpoint what is important. And sometimes just wanna escape into the woods and exist with nature, To explore and use the skills my hands and eyes have. But NO! I'm here in a depressing apartment worrying about how I can please my superiors at work. When I was a child I was always out looking for new things and tried everything, Why does that stop being a thing? If I do, I feel like society is gonna judge me as abnormal and wierd. BUT ! This video was amazing!

I really wanted a bite of your food while watching. It was like I was right there! I think seeing how chores were done in our ancestors lives is very important. They were not so different in many ways. I was thinking about the substitutions from your modern style cooking vessels and plates to what would have been done. They would probably have used a large skin to drag the wood but it would have gotten there just the same. I would think the lady of the lodge would not like flint chips in the common areas! Lol! But I loved watching you put your things in their proper places! This was excellent content!

Hey Will, was that pyrite and flint you used to start that fire? I really admire what you do and aspire to create an environment like you have for my dear ones and myself. It's funny how in today's society it's difficult to achieve the freedom of hard manual labor to satisfy your family and your own needs in a way that calls us back to our primal selves. Today your best bet is to work at an office untill you've saved up enough to buy your own plot of land to be free to cut trees, make shelter, hunt game, create fire, flint knapp on your time off. I live upside down it feels like. Excuse the rant, thanks for your hard work and quality videos, it reminds me to work towards my goals and provides me with valuable knowledge and wisdom. I hope to be able to come to England for a workshop sometime soon

I love being one with nature unfortunately I didn't learn alot of the more stuff I would of have liked to learn such such as find a flint or chert source so I kind try my hand at making something out of the stone u myself found. I'm thinking I maybe living on top of a hill that could have alot of flint or chert. I guess you gotta know the what the outside of the flint looks like before you get to get inside. I know I live across the highway from a very well known crescent quarry where they found huge cut 10x10 foot cut outs probably alot bigger from natives getting material. Use to be open to the public but now huge gates are up and looks like a part of area 51. But anyways I know there are a few different types of flint in my area Burlington being main but there's a high ridge chert also from around my house in high ridge n byrnes mill. Also obviously crescent is the best but it probably hard get into there and get some maybe I just ask em for some. Do you have know what the outer part of the chert or flint stone needs to look like. Kinda feel like a bummer asking this but any info would be great. I find tons arrowheads and alot of unfinished and big flakes that could be used for a small point. Just wondering if it's a easy way to find the flint rock. Thx
