My interpretation of Earth being medieval in 2200 is not an alternate timeline of stalled technological advancement, but rather that it's the year 2200 of a different calendar than the Gregorian calendar we use. The same also applies for finding Earth in WWII.

I'm pretty sure that's what stellaris is suggesting. Anytime you find earth you are in the Milky Way, what state it's in suggests your galaxy's time range related to earth time. Medieval? Your game is in the 600-1400 CE range, WW2 is obvious, post apocalyptic is anywhere from 1960-2200 and finding them as an empire is obviously whatever year it is in game. I think it'd be cool if they added human stuff like a transgalactic human empire crisis or something when they aren't present in your galaxy

One of the fun thing I found out while tweaking with the game is that Sol ALWAYS spawn. BUT, it is always spawn last. So if ALL the system are taken, Sol will have no choice but to spawn in dead middle of the Galaxy, uninteractable and not even detectable most of the time UNLESS, you have the curator mission spawn to lead you to this exact co-ordinate. The auto-direct will lead you to the center of the universe, but again, you cant select it. Perhaps, the second reality is where Sol somehow managed to be pushed to the center of the galaxy by some weird force of the universe.

As a modder, I can confidently say that there is no such thing as all systems being "taken" (unless I misunderstood your statement, if so do correct me). You can spawn as many systems as you want, and they can even spawn ontop of each other so there's no way to "run out" of space for them. Systems also can't be "hidden" or "undetectable", they're always there for everyone to see on the map. Curator and situation log missions pointing you to an undetectable "system" at the center of the galaxy is actually just the result of a scoping error caused by the mission leading nowhere.

@@Elowiny So my understanding is that a system can only be a dragon system for example, and not dragon + stellar devourer at the same time. There are also certain pattern of spawn, like the chosen always spawn with a set system around them. Sanctuary (not fallen empire) will (sometimes) spawn in conjunction with those weird defender guys (Cant remember the name for the life of me, sorry). A lot of these unique system have to have some sort of adjacency at the start of game as well, some are bound to be polar star stuff, other black hole. If you crank the spawn rate of all unique system to max with modding the file, plus you add in the maximum number of empire + fallen empire + marauder, add in the sub empire and systems that is involved in some scenario as well. Now make sure adjacency allowed is turned off so the system is forced to give you some space in between empires so you cant be forced to be next to them, and you can fill up all 1000 system that is the maximum in a huge galaxy. Yes, there are that many content. So by taken up here, I mean it is either an unique system, or system spawn made sure empire must have a healthy social distancing, resulting in some system not being able to spawn, one of which is Sol. Sol not being able to spawn in any system will default to the middle of the Galaxy, and can be seen there. I think there is a reddit thread detailing this better, but at least that is how I have done it. Now, as for the not selectable part, it happens on my end. For some reason there is not path leading to Sol, and while I can use the auto target from the Curator, which lead me to the galaxy core, I cannot select a system that doesnt appear on the map. It might be a scoping error as you say, but the fact that it was about Sol led me to believe otherwise. I could be totally wrong about that though. Further edit: I dont create mod file, I edit the file straight. I dont know if that can cause any weirdness, but I have never seen unique system piling on top of one another.

Even though Base Game Stellaris still has not obtain the tier of potent power as the Blokkats and Stellarborne as of now, I think they would do pretty good against the Warp of Warhammer 40k in a conflict and defeat the Chaos gods. Besides with a present all seeing immortal player who guides and the runs the empire all the time which no one can corrupt there is nothing the Chaos gods, Malice, Gork & Mork, Yssarile, Emperor, or the C'Tan, Necrons, and Tyranids can do to stop us without brute force. We are essentially a better version of Tzeentch not restrained by the Warp who has the resolve and absolute end goal of obtaining total pure victory and dominion. Be afraid denizens of the Warp and despair before the Player's might.

It's like the Cameraman. You simply cannot stop them because for Stellaris to exist, the Player must exist. And for stellaris to be in 40K, the PLAYER must be in 40K. Same as like I said, the cameraman. For the video to exit, the cameraman must have survived and uploaded the video. NOTHING can stop them.

My usual go to Human empire is the Interstellar Confederacy, which I RP as an alternate Universe UFP thats a bit more agressive and willing to interviene in the affairs of other interstellar powers while still holding to the prime directive where Primitive Civilizations are concerned. (Federation builder's shipset is awesome btw.)

The Crythanium Was one of the failed colony ships that the Commonwealth of man ended up finding. The ship they originally arrived with was completely dismantled for parts for building. Also, churches were like, the only places during the dark ages that was able to save books and documents and other sources of knowledge. Not to mention back in those times many religious figures were sources of technological advancement. Like how our knowlege of genetics started with a bishop expirimenting with breeding plants. What would be more accurate is saying that the world was unified religiously much earlier, rather than 'shedding it off'

No, the Chrysanthemum was the ship that bore the people who would become the CoM to Unity. It's quite explict in the text for the Hunt for the Hyacinth.

I have another to report. One much your own except in the late 21st century we discovered a celestial being we simply called the Sky Dragon. Due to a humourous artical about it, it lead to what would be later called "the Second Golden Age of Piracy" with privateers taking to the Star Ocean for great riches.

@@TheRedKing hm, this gives me an idea for a stellaris game The Holy Terran Empire (in its own universe) had unified its earth and successfully became the crisis, ascending into the Shroud and beginning its war with previously ascended empires and with the Gods themselves, this would lead to a set of contingency plans to secure the survival of the empire and gain new manpower, part of these contingencies would be conquering parts of other universes and/or guiding mankind to form the HTE in its own world, leading to the cycle again to feed the war against the Gods This would lead to an invasion of the UN in this world, the HTE would take control of Humanity and guide it to victory or y'know, i could just play as the UN... butttt

I kinda disappointed we don't get to see the Greater Terran Union or Antares Confederacy timeline.

Not connected, beta Earth is via the doorway event, unbidden appearing is just bad luck

The Dark Ages were not a period of technological regression and religion and scientific progress are not mutually exclusive. We also live in a world much more obsessed with the ‘objective truth’ and very definitely haven’t become better for it. This is something I learnt when I was 13 years old.

Am I the only One who imagined the Custodianship being a bit like in the Matrix Movies where the Living beings are seen as Bio Throphies?

@@dominicsouthern7672 Realistically, no nation would be willing to surrender its independence and self determination to become part of a UN "super nation". It's far more likely that in the UNE, every nation still exists with their own government and laws, and the UNE is simply an alliance between all the member nations, with planetary colonies being considered the territory of whatever nations sponsored or sent the colony ship. The UNE military likewise is more likely simply a conjoined alliance of member nation militaries that work independently but allied through a shared comms structure, like say having the United States Space Marine Corps launching an invasion of an alien planet while the Royal Interstellar Navy of the UK provides orbital assistance and spec ops units of the People's Republic of China perform ops behind the frontline.

From the point of view of those "enlightened" space farers, I'm pretty sure, they would speak about the migration period and medieval age with about the same hubris and arrogance as the people of the enlightenment did when they coined the term "dark ages." From that point of view, the usage of the term is definitely warranted.

The seventh timeline is kinda sus. Religion is a concept that would certainly spawn when stress levels are too high and the mind is seeking ways to preserve itself in the worst of situations. This can easily be seen in the way religion is relevant in Affluent and less affluent areas of the world. An earth that did away with religion could be an earth without national disasters and strife. Quite questionable when you factor in how info is relayed, beligerence of people from the bronze and Iron age, and human stupidity in the mix. Perhaps those are humanlike creatures but not humans.

Honestly I absolutely Love Creating my own Custom Human Empire. My favor Is Using the Planetary Diversity Planetary Habitats mod. To start off with Mars and Luna already "colonised". And The Miqo'te and Additional traits mod to Create a second species with the slave gene. The backstory being: That the First Solar System War Ended with the Victory of the so called 'Supreme Alliance Of Human Nations'. An Indirect Democracy, that Won basically By genetically engineered Catgirls and processing them as personal slaves to all whom joined. That Attract Sores of Soldiers and Scientists. Wich ultimately made them outpace the competition and emerged as the Uncontested Power on Terra (Earth) and in the Solar System. They are a xenophobic Empire as a matter of course. Going With the Humanity First Ideology as both a survival tactic and to aim humanities attention and rage at outside threats. And enslaving any Xenos the come across.

One gripe : The Dark ages was a Limited event restricted to Europe. Meanwhile Asia, Middle east were in thier Golden ages. Making scientific,cultural and technological innovations that paved the way for the modern age. The idea that the "European dark ages" prevented human progress is euro-centric and demeans the work of collective humanity.

That’s not really accurate at all, they were called the dark ages because the skies had literally turned ashen and darkened as a result of a series of massive volcanic eruptions in the Pacific region, this temporarily lowered the temperature of most of Earth. As a result plant life and crops all over the world suffered from the lack of sunlight plus temperature drop. It was just an all around apocalyptic age for humanity corresponding with the collapse of the greatest Empire. It was a global event. Not a “Eurocentric” view, that term also denigrates European achievements and history.

A better scenario for a "no dark age humanity" would be a version of earth where the Romans and tje Greeks realize the potential of steam engines and go through an industrial revolution almost 2,000 years before than in our time line. Yeah, stuff like calculus still would need to be developed earlier but with the incentive of steam powered mills, boats, etc., other branches of science also would be developed faster than in real life.
