Hey man, just found your channel. I was watching the same challenge by some other "bigger" channel, but Im done watching a guy whos been playing the game since launch and still has no idea how the game works. So finding your channel was refreshing

Glad you're enjoying the series! Fair warning though I've done plenty of dumb stuff thus far myself. Although I had very little playtime before this series started so it's definitely been a learning process!

Nice picking up that huge field. Congratulations on finally starting the sheep project. I believe it's the spinnery that makes wool into cloth. That would definitely be a very good investment and a way to really really increase your profits. I watched a few other FS channels do that and it really helped. Putting out the generators at the edge of the big fields would be a great way to add income. What do you think about putting up one of the towers for income? Near them

@@MisterTaters Suggestion regarding the spinnery: I have been struggling with delivering to the spinnery on Elm Creek, it kinda has a weird drop off point. I ended up putting down a new spinnery instead. So before you buy the spinnery on the map, try selling some loads of wool there just to check the delivery point. But again, maybe moving tractors and trailers around is your thing, and you enjoy the challenge :)

The tracks on that Class tractor are binding on the hitch when turning. I've encountered the same problem before. It seems to be specific to that particular tractor. Quadtrac tractors don't seem to have the same issue.

Huzzah Sheep!!!! See what I mean about that roof? The small pen is worse, drives me nuts so I use a modded pen that's a pass through but the large standard is workable. Honestly surprised when you kept the grass and slapped it down. I've been running starts in different production chains to back up what i've been suggesting to see how well they scale. I know sheep and grass are amazing, personally though i'm not enthused with anything that requires a combine, at least mid level productions. I play on hard so its a little different, mostly on how important it is to process via productions or animals to make any real money. Bread and oil are decent about on par with corn and unprocessed cotton. Clothing, cake, cereal, cheese, butter, sugar, and chocolate are all great options too. All of the root crops are good and some are much better than others. Soup is kinda stupid with how lucrative it is. Beets and taters aren't that bad to harvest but there's a lot of overhead, something to consider down the line. If you're looking for a multifruit silo my go to is in the modern farm pack by OmaTana and Large silos multi fruit by the same author if you're interested.

It's funny they make all the productions that are most profitable some of the most annoying crops to do (potatoes, beets, grapes, sugar cane) at least in base game. Will have to expand out to more products once I have a bit more cash to throw around to afford some of the other harvesters for example

@@MisterTaters well for the most part, grass is the exception. You don’t have to weed it, or replant it. You can harvest it multiple times a year with each harvest being equal or greater in profit than most options. The only pain with grass is getting it off the field after it is rowed if you don’t / can’t use courseplay. Logging is the other big exception in that it is the only base resource you can make big money on small amounts of. It scales extremely well, and has the lowest overhead requiring a chainsaw and a trailer at a minimum. I did a play through with grapes and while it was decent with raisins I hated doing it. Never did take the time to automate it so your mileage may vary. I really wish they added in spirits and alcohol. Historically that’s half of farming for you and it’s the big ticket item grain could be used for. There’s a sparkling water mod that substitutes this, I’ve never gotten around to testing it though.

Yeah sometimes grass almost seems a little too strong for the amount of effort you put in! I gotta agree that spirits would be a cool production chain

There is a stationary water tank (I think it’s under silo extensions) that extends your greenhouses water capacity. You can just place that next to the greenhouse!

There might be a better way but I just manually increase it till I hit the cap! I believe it scales with your net worth in assets
