I'm pretty sure that was the games way of letting you know which rail is the center one. Every time he purchased more you could see that they all bought at once and the next click the middle rail would catch up by one. It's an odd choice and makes for a less satisfying experience but I think this is one of the rare moments where it actually ISN'T DFs fault. 😆

@@ApocolypseChild nope, rails is the one system where if you select them all and upgrade, it doesn't upgrade until even, it just upgrades across the board

@@soccpuppet4638 Yeah as @Triscraft said some might enjoy making a super moose. There is also the possibility to have different upgrades on different groups of moose by using the control groups. So you might have your elite squad that is focused on mining deep to certain more valuable gems, while the rest of the moose are mining the easier gems on the sides and don't need as much upgrades.

@@jordanrayton7629 They go towards the closest FREE ROW and they have to work from the first material before the last material so if there isn't a free row that is close, they go back to a bad resource

You can also set up a control group and a flag and then define exactly where you want them to mine

played a dnd game that had a bar in a mining town called "miners not minors" but it was only spoken so you were never sure which was acceptable there and which wasn't. to be clear it could have been "minors not miners" it was never clarified

The reason the miners were moving backwards is because only one moose can mine a whole column at a time. More miners will make them spread out.

DF is such an amazing content creator, he never fails to entertain me

There can only be one moose on a column at a time hence some move back to a free column 🤦‍♂️

Quirky balance to this one. Played through the demo. The speed stats are practically useless- everything's too slow anyway- so rails are by far the most important thing for making money by reducing walk distance. All the gems convert damage->$ at effectively the same rate, so basically only rail length and damage matter. On top of that, the saw speed stat scales multiplicatively unlike the damage stat, to the point that the damage stat isn't worth buying past the middle of the game. In the end, a sweet spot of roughly 80 moose and maybe 40 grinders doing the mining was right for me. As a tip- your rails/carts are more densely packed than necessary. Build maybe a third or fourth as many rails as grinders, skipping two or three lanes in between. They'll still easily keep up, but will be MUCH less expensive to build, and have the benefit of not taking so long to fill before you get your money. (Still, use the minecart quantity upgrade quite a lot- it more or less directly improves throughput, and even somewhat reduces the journey time since they can get so long. If your carts are running behind, don't build more rails- build more minecarts on them.)

This game is def cool but I think it will run into the problem of no real replayability unless more is added to it, there’s not really a point or goal to the game as you just kind of afk mine until you get bored. I do think it would be fun to see how long it takes to mine the entire map with no upgrades. But fun as in a going to bed while the game plays sort of way

This looks like a fun game, but the dumbest part about it, and why I won't play it, is bexauae the stupid individual upgrades for everything. It's dumb, just put upgrades that effect all, all the time, even if it's new or just placed. Not uogrades individually per thing
