Love Walt joining President Lincoln. Back, but I agree, it needs to be his voice. The presence of Walt that needs to be in the park is homering his vision and wish for things to be maintained and working for the guests. Even the small things like buckets on tree house. Tom Sawyer's Island was personally designed by Walt and he wouldn't want to see things not working due to budget cuts. This includes the entertainment and shows. The rides are great, but it's the entertainment and cast that make Disneyland magical!!

The Haunted Mansion's stretching room is arguably the most iconic scene of the entire attraction. There is no need to change it in any way. I always admire the fact that the stretching room came to be because you need to go under the Disneyland Railroad to get to the show building. So leave it as it is.

NO video screen!!! Leave hangingman practical effect! Change the Jack overlay into a practical effect instead! Leave it a little scary! Bring back snow-white scary adventure too!

Sorry, but the Snow White attraction won't change back to what it was. It's actually quite a beautiful change, but the Haunted Mansion would be devastating.

Changing the stretching room scene would be criminal to me. Pirates and haunted are two rides that should never be altered. They are the most timeless masterpieces of the entire park. Losing that scene would be a major hit. Sadly though when I hear these rumors they end up coming true.😢

Nothings wrong with it, and it’s been kept as is for 50+ years. Change isn’t ALWAYS good. Sometimes it’s for the worst - this case being an example of that.

Walt's dreams are what brought me to the park and what will keep me at the park. They keep going farther away from what Walt would have wanted. He would be turning in his grave. We felt same way just a few years ago. No more pass and now very few visits. Disneyland “of old” is no more, so we’re down to once a year visits.

Do not change the stretching room. Practical is ALWAYS better. The hanging host is integral!!!!

Sometimes I wish technology would be good enough to have a fluid Jack Skellington animatronic in the stretching room instead of having the projection screen. That would be neat!

I never realized just how large this mansion/critter country construction project really is until now. It’s almost like a whole new land! Tomorrowland next Disney 🥳🥳🥳

I would rather disney keep the Haunted Mansion the same at the beginning of the ride.

I am just wondering what will be done first. The removal of the box at the entrance of Tomorrowland or the brown Fence in front of the Adventureland restrooms? To me those two things signify how hard Disney has fallen.

Getting pretty sick of not getting to ride the original style Haunted Mansion. They start the holiday theme earlier and earlier each year. With the refurb, it's over a year now of no original Haunted Mansion.

I was just at Disneyland and I believe Snow White’s Enchanted Wish actually is the gold standard for screen’s & projections used with practical effects. The cauldron, the backgrounds, the breaking of the magic mirror, etc… every screen or projection on that ride enhances the practical and doesn’t replace it or look out of place. I have been going to Disneyland for decades and I really just took note of all the projects this last time.

I love Tom Sawyers island. I go every time and take a lunch to the island. It’s so relaxing and wonderful area. I usually spend a good 45 mins there.

I really miss “Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln” it’s one of my favorite things to visit when I go to Disneyland. ❤ I also miss seeing my friend Garret working the exhibit!❤️👍 I hope it opens soon without too many changes.🤞👍

its like every other educational history information, it is something the woke do not want to show....it doesnt fit the one government world and they dont want reminders of how, why, where the Constitution evolved

I'm one for keeping the island going! I've heard a few people say it is a waste area, but for me it is absolutely not a waste! It's the best place to go when all the noise and movement get to be too much. It's also a delightful place for shade, and I love all the trees! The activities out of commission make it feel incomplete.

I’ve been obsessed with The Haunted Mansion since I was 8 years old and saw it on an episode of Saturday Disney here in Australia. I finally saved enough to travel over and visit it in 2017 (I don’t want to admit my age haha) but I was crying happy tears to finally experience the ride. I managed to return in 2023 and when I saw they were upgrading I have been desperately saving every dollar I have to go again in 2025. Then these rumours emerged…..I love the ghost host scene!!!! I honestly don’t think I’ll bother if they change it to look like the holiday overlay quality (I’ve never liked the look of that and always planned my visits when it’s not on). I’m so disappointed as I was so excited and now I’m more worried than anything else.

I need Disney to not touch the stretching room scene. It’s way too iconic, way too historic. It’s a major storytelling element to the ride. It has aged just fine.

I would be devastated if the close down Tom Sawyers Island! It’s the one peaceful place to go on a hot crowded day. Also very sad about the end of the Critter Country sign 😞

As for Walt, it BETTER be Walt himself. It just has to be. Give us his opening dedication. And, YES, MORE Walt in his park. #morewaltdisneyinthepark

Yes to visiting Tom Sawyer Island. Its only attraction was designed by Walt himself. It is also a wonderful place to get away from the sensory overload that can happen. TY FreshBaked!

They need to leave the Ghost Host effect alone in the stretching room. They definitely need to not change the story - it is no easy is glamorizing ending your life, it's simply raising the stakes on supposedly being trapped in the stretching room. (Edit: corrected typos.)

I would love to see Walt Disney more of Walt. I was at Disneyland kid in the '60s and a teenager in the '70s and I've always been a Disney kid all my life. I really would love to see more of Walt. That's exciting that they're considering it. I hope they do it. So exciting!

Tom Sawyer Island is so fun! My kids and I go over there in the afternoon , bring some food and the kids can run around. I am sure they can find some extra money somewhere to help maintain this area.

I love the idea of more Walt Disney in the park! we should actually have more imagery of him around the park as far as his voice and script I assume imagining will use parts of him talking about great moments with Mr. Lincoln and other things and piece it together

If people are saying the hanging ghost host is too morbid or scary.. THATS THE POINT?? Its a HAUNTED Mansion. Not a happy mansion. Kids got half the part with Fantasyland. As I kid thou I LOVED haunted, and never understood the ghost host bit. My tiny neck and head could never crane up to the ghost host above, so I never knew what it referred to.

Maybe have a set of him doing his famous "welcome to this happy place"? Heck, you could even use quotes from the TV show of while Disneyland was being built! The are many options, but I think you gotta do a direct quote from Walt himself. That reminds me of when Saving Mr. Banks came out. At the credits, they had audio of Walt talking with Travers. The audience did not leave. We all sat in silence listening. It was magical.

I am 100% against changing the hanging body in the stretching room. Accessibility means everyone should be able to access the content. That's a wonderful thing. Accessibility should not dictate the content. The content of the Haunted Mansion is macabre humor about death. Some people may say, "We want to see macabre humor about every kind of death, except that one." Okay. That's fine. The Haunted Mansion is one of the most thoroughly documented experiences on Earth. Watch video, look at pictures, talk on discussion groups. Determine when you should look down, close your eyes, etc., during the few seconds the image appears. Discuss alternatives like the "take the stairs" route that was used during COVID. But you do not get to dictate what the content can be for everyone else. If it's done, it will set a terrible precedent for creativity at Disney. I consider it the equivalent to pouring acid on the Mona Lisa because the way she smiles disturbs you.

Need to leave the haunted mansion as is. And no replacing the ghost host. His voice is awesome So many changes to the park over the years. Change CAN BE good, but not all change IS good. Leave the Walt stuff alone....Small World, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, the railroad, Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise. There have been changes to all of these, but for the most part they are pretty true to classic. And Great Moments needs to stay BUT I agree with someone below that suggested an Animatronic Walt giving his opening day speech/history of how Disneyland came to be. And bring back the Golden Horse Shoe pre pandemic stage shows. Tom Sawyer Island is fun! We take our lunch over and eat at the picnic tables and watch the ships leave the dock and return. fun to watch the canoes go by and relax and watch the duck families swim around.

We saw two trains running yesterday on Casey Jr. (Sunday) 1 in the morning but when we went back by a little later, there were 2 trains.

It’s crazy to me that Disney charges what it does and then makes budget cuts on top of it. They are destroying what people think of when they think of Disneyland. I’ve always heard it’s expensive and there’s long lines but until lately I hadn’t heard people saying they’ll never go again.

I always prefer practical. I am hating the trend towards so many screens. Haunted Mansion is beloved to me.

As for Tom Sawyer Island - the pontoon bridge and the swinging bridge as well have been closed for quite some time I was there on May 24 and they were both closed on that day.

No AI bs speaking nonsense for Walt in Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Yes there needs to be more of Walt in the park he created!

Nearly a year ago Jenny Nicholson tweeted: "It is kind of weird that there were rumors last year about disney removing the hanging man from the Haunted Mansion preshow for sensitivity reasons and then this year they drop their family movie almost entirely about suicide, to a degree that the ride never was" I think this really clarifies Disney's lack of leadership from on high, as the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. There seem to be a lot of executives contradicting one another, and some of them want symbol without symbolized. They want story with no conflict, princesses without villains as we see in Tiana's Bayou Adventure. It blands down the company and will ultimately make it unpalatable to guests (including children) who want something that feels ~real~, even if that's a hint or implication of suicide.

The Island is one of our favorite place to go. We have many great memories.

The ghost host should not change, leave the hanging host! I was never scared of this ride as a kid which made me love it as an adult because it was mine and my mom’s favorite ride to go on together. People need to stop being so sensitive and sheltering themselves and their kids.

I like changing the bride from video to practical. I don't like changing the hanging corpse and the stretching pictures to video. Screens very rarely work.

So excited to hear that they may open Haunted Mansion early! I missed Haunted Mansion when I visited last year, so it would be such a nice surprise to see it this year! Yes I would LOVE more Walt in the park. An animatronic version maybe saying the opening day speech may make me cry. I have always been dumbfounded why his day of birth isn’t honored on December 5th. I was there in December 5th and there was nothing to commemorate it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My friend Corey does voice matching for Disney when they need a clean copy of Walt saying something. I guarantee that you’ll never know the difference between the two of them.

It is kinda jarring that you go to disneyland and see a scene of someone hanging themselves. I would be okay if they left it, its always been there, and small kids in my experience don't notice it enough to ask what it is. I would also understand if they changed it.

Okay, Haunted Mansion: I've been thinking of starting a group and movement for all these changes that Disney is doing in the parks. I DON'T like them. And I used to think it was just me who didn't like them. But it is not. It is a lot of people who are not happy that they change things. I didn't like the changes they made in Pirates, and they think nobody would notice, but they ALSO even changed the soundtrack inside of the Pirates ride. Pay really good attention. But these Haunted Mansion changes. . . for starters, the change to the line queue. I don't like it. Just like I don't like the queue over at that Spiderman "slinger" ride. It is a maze-trap for people. From the outside it makes it look like the line is not that long. . . but once you're in there, and have been in there for 20 minute, and you see that you've been zig zagging in that line for a while but haven't left the same area, and then through a long straight part, that lead to another zig zag maze area, where you will be for yet another HOUR, it just F-ing ridiculous!! And now they are doing this with the Haunted Mansion. I don't like it! And now, the rumors about them changing things inside, well that just sucks even more. For how many DECADES has the "Ghost Host" been as it is????? Since I've been going as a kid in the 80's, I have NEVER heard ANY complaints about how "sensitive" that hanging host is... I've never heard ANY kids coming off of Haunted Mansion traumatized because of that hanging host, EVER!! I'm with everybody leaving the comment to leave that stretching room as it was!!! There was NOTHING wrong with it before. We go (and we pay BIG MONEY), to Disneyland, to experience different lands, rides and attractions, to be drawn into that world, if just for a minute or two. . . WE (even kids know), already know the Pirates ride is FAKE and not REAL. WE (even kids know), already know that Space Mountain ride is FAKE and that we are not REALLY, going into SPACE. WE "ALL" already know that we're not REALLY going underwater, when we get on the Little Mermaid ride, even my little kid knows THAT. WE ALL KNOW that the Haunted Mansion is really NOT a mansion and NOT REALLY "haunted", and that ALL of the GHOSTS in there are FAKE, and just for our entertainment, and there to be just part of the attraction, show and ride. BEFORE "EVERYONE" gets to Disneyland, EVERYONE know what they are in for, THAT'S why we ALL pay THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of our hard earned dollars to go there.... to revisit childhood memories that have not changed since. We don't pay all this money so that NEW people at Disney can impose "THEIR" dreams and ideas on us. We pay and go to enjoy what Walt Disney imagined and intended for the kid in all of us. All of these people wanting to change things at Disneyland are "dream killers". If they change that "hanging ghost" at Haunted Mansion, or mess with the Pooh ride I will stop buying my "Inspire Key" pass every year. I will truly be done with Disney. I also don't like the Disney cartoon character dancing modern dances and doing provocative ADULT dance moves, AT A CHILDRENS AMUSEMENT PARK. "THAT" has got to stop!! Can they CHANGE THAT????? I would welcome THAT!

I can’t believe they’re closing things or not opening the Haunted Mansion just before the D23 Event? I know most attendees are local but bet a good percentage are coming from out of state for this year’s announcements.

the haunted mansion is my favorite attraction and i am coming from indiana for the first time disneyland/dca visit for d23. i’m so devastated that i’m not gonna be able to see it. it’s nice that someone else is acknowledging this though, i haven’t seen anyone else say anything!

I would be very disappointed if they removed the hanging ghost host. I honestly think that the changes to Pirates was a huge mistake. I’m not opposed to improvements, but I strongly believe many of the changes are hurting the park’s appeal

I love Tom Sawyer Island. My grandsons have spent many hours playing there. I was sad that they cut off the back part and there is no more fort and we lost a cave among other things.
