The boat landing isn't quite ready for launching but by using a small boat we able to access the first open water of the season.

Hey Lance, got a suggestion for you. Since you're out with a buddy most times, I think you should look into a Rode GO 2 microphone system. It's compatible with any camera that has a 3.5mm mic jack or GoPro if you acquire their adapter. The key to a good video is good audio.

I’ve been thinking about adding mics.
Looks like a fun day. I am planning on coming up to La Cross with some friends and the wives over Easter weekend. Hoping to do some fishing on the river there for yellow perch and walleye.
Very cool always wanted to try that . Great day looks like you got some good eating fish for a fry. Thanks for taking us out with you and showing us so early open water fishing.

I don’t use anchors when there are large ice chunks floating around. If an ice chunk grabs the rope it could potentially pull you under.

What is on the bottom of the boat? Assuming that is to help it slide on the ice? How does that affect it in the water? As always really enjoy your videos, keep them coming! You've got a very relaxed, enjoyable to watch style, that's also very informative.

There is a sheet of 1/4” polyethylene plastic on the bottom. It’s mainly there because I use this boat as a scratcher boat in the winter. The plastic makes the boat slide very easily across ice. We just putted around so the plastic didn’t have any adverse effect on our trip.
