These early ones are rare, but normal mosins were imported by the millions to the u.s in the 70's 80's and 90's. And are semi common nowadays but in the 90's and 2000's were under 100 US dollars. But now are more expensive, around 500 US dollars.

The older (imperial 3 line rifles) like the one in the video, had much smoother actions then ww1 and ww2 production mosin nagants,

Im looking into it more but supposedly my buddys finnish mosin is a 1891 dated tang with one of those front sling swivel bands. its got a finnish stock though so the sling is through the swivel the finns added.

I heard a few years ago that the french were the ones that invented it. They started making it for the Russians. Then the Russians liked it so much that they started producing it.?😅

No, but the French indeed are linked with this rifle. As its name (though not official) tells, the Mosin Nagant is a mix of Russian and Belgian designs. The very first ones were made in Russia, but as russian factories couldn't keep up with the needs of the army, the Russian government seeked for help in France, where the Manufacture of Châtellerault made 500 000 rifles in 1895, just as the US did later during WW1. If you can find a French made Nagant, then you are a lucky guy !
