    Every time I play DST with my friends, I say, “okay, let’s be organized about this” on day one. By winter the base is the whimsical equivalent of a house with a couch in the yard.

    Most games are like that, I actually hate to learn how to play a game from KZread/guides/walkthroughs, games should be intuitive and informative so we can just play the game and find out about all the game has just by playing it. I hate the phrase "the game doesn't hold your hand" that's overly used by fanbois to defend a game that needs youtube every damn time to find out what is what and how is how.

    You make it look so easy. I have had the game for a few weeks. The farthest I made it was to the 1st day of winter. I can't seem to work fast enough. And it takes me forever to figure out where each recipe that I want to make is located and takes me forever to do that too. I think I feel even more overwhelmed after watching the video! Lots of great info, but there is so much attention to detail involved in playing this game and the game time moves fast.

    @@afr4y117 It all takes practice and experience, really! In the early game there's usually plenty of food lying around ready to be picked up - seeds, berries, carrots, cactus, etc. Once you have a base set up, a berry patch can be nice, as is a spider nest nearby for monster meat. Being able to convert Monster Meat into Eggs is super nice, and for big meats, set up some pig houses nearby, hunt a koalefant, or go kill some beefalo or tall birds. • @salendrak

    @salendrak

    2 жыл бұрын

    Are you using geometric placement? You can still get a good formation a couple of ways. Option 1 - place left and right crock pots on the X just inside the lines of the tile, then for the top and bottom use your eyeballs and squish them in as close as you can with geometric placement off. Might not be a perfect square, but still allows room for at least 2 ice boxes in the middle. Option 2 - place all 4 crock pots on the cross-lines of the tiles. This ends up a bit more spaced out and might look funny depending on what you're doing with underlying turfs, but leaves PLENTY of space to fit ice boxes and/or salt boxes in between the pots such that you can reach all 4 pots from any of the food storages.
