when you see a soldier or a police officer, you won't know, he can be good or he can be bad, he can have blood or tears on his hand, but when you see a firefighter, no matter the nationality the religion or ideology you know 100% that he is SAVING LIVES! unless you're in 60bc in rome lol

I don't know about The Philippines, but here in Italy emergency vehicles personnel are not mandated to wear seat belts, the idea being that if they end up fumbling with the belts or other equipment while trying to wear them, they may lose valuable time in an emergency. I follow another Firefighting account called "Brandweer Lunteren", from The Netherlands, and I saw they often not wear seat belts while driving to an incident scene as well, so maybe this is a thing all over the world.

It is also the reason why a traffic enforcer at an intersection will prioritize fire trucks. It doesn't matter if you're an official from another country, like a President, ambassador, diplomat, etc. Even if your escort is on high alert, it doesn't really change anything.
