    Good upload but a few missed facts. 1. LVG was in charge of most if not all of his signings. LVG wanted Bastien. So much so that he went against the board who didn’t want to sign a 30+ player. The club did it for him. LVG also wanted Depay. LVG has also been asked directly about Di Maria and he has admitted Di maria was on his list. Other players were as well but so was Di Maria 2. Fergie didn’t let Pogba go. It’s been quoted in SAF own book how angry he was with Pogba’s agent (Riola) that he took Pogba to Juv and there was nothing Utd could do to stop that due to his contract. So SAF never let Pogba go. He very much wanted him to stay. 3. Jose wanted Pogba. Yes Utd had been in communication with Pogba, bale, Neymar and all top players. But it was only when Jose came and said he wanted Pogba that Utd moved for him. This has been confirmed by Duncan Castle who is well know as Jose’s mouth piece I do agree however Pogba is no completely mid. He is an attack mid or a free role player who is amazing when covered. But can’t have any or much defensive responsibility.

    The worst thing is that they think going back to the Fergie days. Football moves on. They are falling in the same trap as liverpool where they tried to keep the boot room ethos alive, when fitness and tactics were getting more advanced. The only time united will go forward is when Ole goes.

    Moyes was a poor choice, i totally disagree with there analysis. If anything he tried to change too much. He removed the whole first team coaching staff and replaced them with people who had never coached at that level. He signed Fellaini, who was a terrible signing. He made huge errors and set the club back years.

    Theyve failed to finish in the top 4 three times in the last 4 seasons....a statistic which tells everyone where they are right now in the football pecking order. And there's no certainty this steady decline will get better - with the clearly out of his depth Solskjaer in charge and the fact they can no longer attract the very best players theres a risk they could soon be ovetaken by the likes of wolves and everton.

    I don't understand Giles take on Pogba at times. Firstly he goes on to say Pogba played great for france in the semi final and played in a way he had never seen play before . Then he goes on to contradict himself when he says that pogba has no positional sense and will never be a great player . So according to giles Pogba will never be a great player because he has no positional sense , even though according to giles in the semi final and final for france pogba showed great positional sense and played like a pro. Could someone please explain to me what the hell giles is on about . I mean you either have good positional sense or you don't . If this thing about positional sense is true . Then how can pogba have good positional sense for 2 matches for france and then go on to have bad positional sense in every match he has played for man united since.

  • @davidlogan8905

    @davidlogan8905

    5 жыл бұрын

    I'm a bit confused by the last paragraph there. At times it seems like you're painting a black and white picture of positional sense where you are either good or you are not good (bad); but it's a spectrum going from 'never in a good position' to 'always in a good position'. No player is _never_ in a good position; similarly, no player is _always_ in the right position. It's on a spectrum. Viewed like this, there's nothing to be confused about where Pogba is concerned, and inconsistency across games for France or Utd (plays well and poor for both) is just what you would expect from a player who is where is he on the spectrum, which is somewhere in the middle. He is not a player who has good positional sense overall, because players who have good positional sense overall are vigilant, and don't have so much inconsistency in their levels from minute to minute or from match to match.

  • @greengrass811

    @greengrass811

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@davidlogan8905 You certainly explain positional sense better than giles . Giles was a great player and has a good understanding of the game . But he can be very black and white when he is explaining the game . What giles really should be saying is that pogba doesn't have great positional sense like pirlo but he still has better positional sense than 99 percent of professional footballers who play the game. I mean its like saying Lukaku has no first touch . Of course lukaku has a first touch he has a better first touch than 99 percent of professional footballers but his first touch lets him down a lot more than messi whose first touch is nearly always reliable.

  • @greengrass811

    @greengrass811

    5 жыл бұрын

    @UChtEAIdxLC7fzYFcoYsZmxg But isn't positional sense also required to find space to get on the ball . Paul Scholes wasn't a defensive player but he had great positional sense that allowed him find space in tight games , where he could get on the ball and dictate play . Would you not say that Pogba lacks positional sense in that really tight games he is not able to find space to get on the ball like scholes could.

  • @wannaseesomestuff

    @wannaseesomestuff

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@greengrass811 Yes he also lacks that positional sense to find space but he has such a good physique that often his physicality can get him out of a tight spot when he is in the right frame of mind. But that kind of positional sense ( attacking ) you refer to is less precise. I mean less precise in that a player trying to attack can attack many different positions on the pitch and hurt the opposition. But if the opposition is attacking you and the man you are supposed to be marking is in a dangerous position there is only one place on the pitch you should be and that is marking your man.

  • @greengrass811

    I think it was john giles who said that all great midfielders are able to make the ball come to them . scholes, pirlo, xavi, silva etc . I don't think pogba has that ability.

    Man U fans and the board were spoilt for 20+ years with unrelenting success it was and is understandable that they have been so desperate to reignite the same formula. The issue is that they have not been accepting of any period of transition, I don't think they gave Moyes enough time to even implement a new approach, LVG was a massive backward step, Mourinho was a) and is) a short term step. Pogba is a scapegoat for that lack of patience and desperation; fans and pundits have foisted this messianic expectation on him. He was expected to fulfill three different roles, while still carrying the club to the top, he was a false-god, but it was not his fault, in the very interview it is stated he was played outside his normal position yet he's dammed for it, and his whole being is being brought into question, maybe he should've had sex with a prostitute, his brother's wife or tried to break a player's leg and he would be lauded. Its confusing as pundits say Man utd shouldn't go backwards to the Fergie days but yet say they want someone like Roy Keane to come in and subvert Pogba's attitude and influence on the dressing room, as he's the only virus. Pogba cannot win in any given situation at man utd presently, there is nothing he can do at the club to appease the fans. Hes unhappy: she should be happy; he's happy he should be unhappy, he says he wants to stay he should be 'got rid of', says he wants to leave he's a snake with no loyalty. The problem at Man utd is not Pogba, its not the Management or the players, its the God-given expectation of success without the very apparent realisation that the club is not as it used to be. The club was in decline before Fergie left, Fergie winning the title in his last season was close to a miracle with the players he had and he left behind. They were not great and some of them remained at the club because of the apparent Fergie hoodoo hold over the club; Smalling and Jones are trash, I dont think Bournemouth would touch them, but yet at Utd they remain, and do not get the same vitriolic abuse as Pogba. Young should've been sold 2-3 years ago but he's club captain not out of merit but longevity. Lingard is just not that good. Matic has the turning circle of a tanker. Lukaku couldnt hit a barn door with a barn. OGS is back at the club again not through merit but due to the links to the past, man u are doomed to their fate as they are hell bent on repeating it.

    MU should have won the EC more, they were out classed by Bayern Munich, Chelsea penalty.. Ferguson was not a coach like Pep..look how he improved a very ordinary player Sterling What could Pep have done coaching Rooney who could have been much better player. He was burnt out and we never saw Rooney dribble past players. Same had Rio...never really expressed his skills.. Moyes was never a top manager they called him at Everton dithering Dave... His pre season training methods was wading through the cold rivers of Austria. He changed the eating methodd at United.He had no man management skills Moyes. Pep Guardiola is s coach who improves players technically. Ferguson and Moyes never improved players. Rio said we used the wrong tactics against Barca tried to press them. Out classed twice Rio was world class Rooney lost that magic when he went to United. Look at him for England before he moved to United . He went past players, He sacrifice his game for Ronaldo doing the graft.. He should have gone abroad like Keegan and become a Better player. This is IMHO
