Eames DCM Restoration
We apologize for the strange formatting on this video. We rushed this video and messed something up along the way, but we sincerely hope you still enjoy it.
We wanted to share the journey of four 1960's/70's Eames DCM (Dining Chair Metal) chairs as they were restored at our furniture restoration studio in Connecticut. We used techniques in this video that anyone could use and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comments or email us at renewfurniture@yahoo.com.
Sadly, someone had drilled through the back and we did our best to blend in the repairs, but the touch-ups are still somewhat visible. Much better than the bolt heads or holes though!

Thanks for the interesting video. What exactly did you use to get the old shock mounts completely out of the plywood indentations?
Interesting video and finished job looks great. What adhesive did you use to reattach the shock mounts? I have an LCW I need to do the same repair to.

Hi Paul. These were our own chairs and we were testing out Starbond Rubber Toughened CA glue. We were not super satisfied with the results. We thought that it would be strong enough, but we had some mounts fail.

@@furniturerefinishingbyrene8653 would epoxy work better as. bond?
I have some LCW's in Red where the backs were drilled through. I'm to the point of replacing the shock mounts and filling the front holes with KwikWood. Now comes the color fixing. Any tips for the red?

Red aniline dye is what you need to purchase. Blessings
Thanks for putting this video up. What is the tool you use to clean up the wood mount, and where do I find it?

We are using a forstner drill bit. Just use it carefully.
Hey, is there any way that you can provide me with a list of the products that you used for this project? Looking to do something similar and not sure I got them all just by viewing the video. Thank you!
