Eagle bus suspension work while traveling

I finally tackle raising the front end height of our bus. I realized after doing that I definitely over planned for it, but am excited about the learning experience and even happier to share it

Thank you! Mechanical issues are always challenging, but I try to never procrastinate when they arrive

I am so glad my 2000 Monaco dynasty ride height adjustment is done with airbags. Thank you for the video.

Good buy on the HF wrenches. The Eagle bus is a timeless design.

Thanks for sharing! I need to adjust the front on my Model 10, it is actually too high on the drivers side.

There is a proper procedure to follow when doing this. I didn’t follow it but my main objective was to get the front end up because my bus was nose diving in corners and when braking. Thanks for watching 😃

Great, just one question, are you supposed to use the wheel well trim as a hight reference, or the bus wheel opening without the trim?

I referenced from the trim. Another way is to measure from the bottom edge of the bus to the ground. 13-14 inches is the height you’re looking for.

Shouldn't this be done while referencing scale readings at each corner so you don't achieve a massive cross weight?

Scales are only needed when adjusting the bogey wheels. there is a very technical way to do this. Long story short, my bus was parked on ramps for too long. Knowing that the aggressive incline was at fault for front being lower, I made the adjustments to bring it back up and level.

At the end of the video you had the radiator fan bearing screaming. How did you get it fixed? Did you make a video for that? That is always a worry for me on my Eagle. Where to find the pulley assembly. I don't know if you can replace that assembly without removing the radiator. It would be very difficult to do it through the floor of the coach in the back.

Never mind I found your video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y3yf2tidpdzTmbg.html Yours is quite different from mine. I don't have a grease fitting. It is sealed. That is why I worry about it. I've owned the coach for 24 years.

I believe the hinged radiators happened in late ‘89 and newer. Most of the older buses were mounted in 😔

Is that a torsion style suspension under the front of that? Does the rear have air or mechanical suspension? I’ve been under my mci quite a bit lately getting the suspension dialed in on it. Great video man.

Thanks for watching! Yes the entire suspension is torsion, no bags. Makes for a very great ride, but as you can see, comes with some cons 🙂

So how high did it make your bus overall height clearance now?

As I was speaking with other eagle owners, I was told that adjustment to the bogies does nothing for height and only adds assistance for brakes. Idk though, as my bus now sits just under 48” all the way around. There is a proper procedure for adjusting the suspension and I did not follow it. I have my reasons and is why I adjusted the front first earlier this year. Bus was parked in a position that compressed the front torsions to the point that they stayed at that height. I raised the front back to level at 47” and that was allowing the bogies to lockup under hard braking. Common sense told me I needed to add down force to make bogies. Just drove 1500 miles from Tulsa to St Cloud with zero issues.
