Wow! Thank you for this. My 2009 Z4 35i has 144,000 miles on it but have never changed the DCT transmission fluid. It had 72,000 on the car when I bought it so I doubt it’s ever been changed and I don’t have any service records prior to me buying the car. Your video is the first one I’ve found regarding the DCT trans oil change. It’s not leaking but I think it’s long overdue for an oil service.

Thanks for the helpful information. I noticed though you said you drained 6.5 liter but then added 5.5 to 6.0. Is this because you reached 104 Fahrenheit and intend to add additional fluid once it cools and is back in the temperature range to add? Also the foxwell tool is capable of performing the oil balancing function which engages 1/3 with minimum pressure and maximum cooling during the final fluid add.

Thanks I knew about the final 1/3 filling but I didn’t have a tool to perform that. I will probably go back and do the final fill when I have the time. As for the amount drained I’m guessing it was overfilled slightly from the factory. I could probably get a little more in there but it takes time and the car heats up quickly.
