how do i clear check engine sign on my 2001 bmw 325ci

Denis Efimov just push your traction control button and hold for around 10 seconds. no lights or anything happens when you hold it in but you will know when you go to drift whether you held it long enough

Yes, the reason to disable traction and stability control is quite simple: I don't want the car doing anything I didn't ask it to do. And you only have to hold DSC button for 3-5 seconds. Upon initial press, the triangle/ exclamation symbol pops up, after a few seconds your e-brake light will illuminate yellow, and should be red if you engage the e-brake.

Thank you so much for posting this video. The test worked exactly as you said it would and based on your battery test demo I have been able to ascertain that the alternator on the BM is failing. Battery test said 12V, which went down to 7V on start up, and hung around at 11V all the time it was running. Will test connections first, but suspect it's kaput.

I mean It was showing 85 degrees, but my analogue gauge was showing 90 5 minutes ago. Is it showing the Engine Temp. or the Coolant temp? As I don't want to turn my car off at 85 degrees.

I jump started my 323c1 with 2 battery packs because 1 was weak. Anyway i got it started and the entire dash is out. I replaced the battery with a new one still out. I checked the fuses and their all good. Don't have a clue. Any thoughts? Thanks

Any suggestions on trunk interior light? Its not bulbs or fuse. First my front right headlight went out. Then trunk interior. I pounded with my fist on headlight lightly, it came back on but not the one in the trunk. Week later same headlight problem. Ended up replacing the bulb. Hi thanks for this video. I have an E46 and I have taken it from UK to europe... I want to change the milometer into kilometers, so that when I see a sign saying a town is 150km away I can look at my trip and work out when I am near etc. Do you know how I can do this? I'm trying to get to the feature that shows engine and coolant temperature. I got to 19. I waited till it said off I hit it real fast. Then I pressed it all the way until it said 7. It said 50 on the left and seven on the right. How do I hold in this position? I turn the key off and started my car and all I managed to do was reset my clock. 🤷 Is it not possible to drive the vehicle with this display option?

i have the same problems signal i test on # 2 but after that nothing happens.

14V is very good - what's not good? Today my car stopped working whilst driving and there are a number of possible problems based on reading: cam or crank position sensor, battery / charging (as per voltage check here), fuel filter / pump... anyway, what would a poor voltage be during idle that means I should look at replacing the battery first? Thank you for the great info. I have a 98 328i I am stationed in Germany and have a question. When I start the car, the yellow oil indicator comes on briefly then goes off. Also the the Yellow radiator indicator comes on every now and then but briefly. My owners manual is German so I can't translate. Car runs great however. Any guidance is appreciated.

Oil light is a bad oil level sensor. Not too expensive to replace , but worth getting it replaced in my opinion as I hate to see the light On the dash. And your yellow "radiator symbol" is actually probably your windshield wash fluid, just needs to be topped off and it should go away right away.

John Drummond oil sensor is really easy. It's on the bottom of the oil pan. Did you check the coolant level? If it's low it will come on. If not the sensor is part of the reservoir. It's not that tough to change, but can be a little bit of a chore.

I have a problem with the coolant level light is ALWAYS on regardless of water level. I had radiator and hoses replaced and also sensor in bottom of expansion tank,..made no difference. someone said the magnet in bottom of expansion tank made be stuck down? the other problem i have is when car is completely shut down and key withdrawn there is a very slight humming in dash like a little motor running. if i leave car for a few days battery will go flat. I tried the above 'test' and made no difference to these 2 problems.

dan 11 The little motor running sound is the water pump which is quite normal. The rest I don't know. Try E46 forum which is very good..

This one only works on the e46 models. What I do know is that all BMW's have a function like this.

Panik 760... thank you!! soo much for this lucrative info. Would you think doing this on my 03 325ci would help eliminating LIMP MODE... I cant get out of this issue and it's driving me nuts. I see that... "EGS transmission failure=0 " is on your list. This is exactly the core problem of LIMP MODE.. there is a failure in the communication of the EGS control unit (transmission computer). I would appreciate your suggestion or anyone that reads this post. Thank you

Norbert Filardi I had the same problem, I did a diagnostic test and it said the throttle body was the problem. so I got a long peace steel that would reach the throttle body, I got a hammer and tapped on it about ten times. its on driver side. stand right in front of finder facing passenger side tap on left side of throttle body. that's the side that has the sensor that's causing limp mode. Before tapping on it, have car on and drive it ten feet, turn car off wait 10 minutes. problem gone. have you had some one do diagnostic scan, to see what codes you have ?

ScarzNation Gamer I believe your asking about your rear tail light ? If so! that means your right tail light is out or it's on its way out. Try replacing bulb and see if that fixes your problem.

Mine you have to hold the button while turning the key to activate the function (04 2L CDTI) U.K.

does 7.3 show your speed? does your fuel consumption gauge work? if neither it could be your speed sensor.

You have to use a code reader and clear the codes after fixing whatever issue caused the codes to light up the light

Everything works on mine that you've just shown, a part from the cluster test function number 2, just goes to 2.1 and goes back, any help or has the previous owner taken a fuse out or something? Thanks in advance

I had the transmission fault light and car was in limp mode, I had to put a new transmission in. It was slipping in 2 gears. 2004 330ci 130k mi.

If it shows it is charging at 13,8 - 14.2 V, it means the alternator is fine and charging your battery.

you can't turn off an check engine light for ever. you can Only clear it
