E39 M5 RUNNING LIKE A BAG OF SPANNERS. OTHER GARAGE TRIED BUT FAILED TO REPAIR THE VANOS.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

IT HAS BEEN POINTED OUT THAT I AM TURNING THE HUB AND NOT THE VANOS SPLINED SHAFT IN THIS VIDEO. Apologies if the description is misleading.
Here is a better way of finding the old sweet spot
• Dive Into The S62 Vano...
Part 2 to this video can be found at the end of this one.
Sometimes, more often than I would like I get E39 M5s with Vanos problems and even more often than not the problems are caused by poor workmanship from other "mechanics". This really nice E39 M5 has been brought to have the the exhaust vanos problem cured on both banks. The intake is in great order.
I found that the bank 1 Vanos was not fitted correctly (more about that in part 2) and bank 2 had a problem with a sticking vanos sprocket internals and a leaking teflon seal on the exhaust actuator piston. In the video I cover the opposite bank without leaking pistons.
If you need an overview of how this thing works on the S62 engine then I think you will find this brief video interesting.
As ever thank you all for your amazing support.

I think that ure wrong , you should seek sweet spot by vanos shaft not with that hub

You are in fact doing the splined gear “magic spot” wrong. The hub is turned clockwise fully with the hub bolts as snug as possible to still allow the hub to smoothly turn (the idea is you’re removing loose bolt / hub slop as much as possible). You rotate the splined shaft to find the magic spot. You DO NOT turn the hub counter clockwise to do this. It must stay fully clockwise. You are clearly turning the hub. There is a point on the shaft where it will perfectly line up with the cam splines and the hub splines allowing you to fully insert the shaft and fully remove it. The hub will be fully clockwise at that point. Please correct this before finishing the work.

S52 but the concept is the same. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fX9olbGJg5q9obQ.htmlsi=L7LSiX6V8G_lTH-h

Lets see if I can find the magic tooth in the next video then. I was over dramatising it for the sake of showing what happens when the shaft is turned anti clockwise if you listen to what I was saying. I will be building this up today.
