You can use it... if you use two boxes. One for brakes/indicators (no idea about reverse) and a second for headlights- hooked up to a spare channel rather than throttle. Then you have running lights/main beam as desired. And maybe swap out the whites for halogen/warm white.

Yeesh....possibly haha!
As I said earlier, the Redcaat one for the Scout is good. As you have pointed out earlier those with no reverse or high beam only when acclerate is useless for scale applications. Which most cheap ones are..

I plan to cover that one soon!
Thank you for your video. It helps a lot.

Im glad! These sets can be a pain.
You have much more patience than I do! I would have been throwing things on the ground & stomping on them. Plus, I'm not great with electronics. If the instructions are not spelled out as for a 5-year-old, I will typically have to go to my local hobby store.

I was bummed until the signal ports....I cannot believe none of it was labeled...

@AMPRO Engineering ive had that happen way too many times. It's really frustrating when you get something sent to you and it's not as advertised

YEP! been there and done that. From your videos, it seems you have a pretty good understanding of electronics. Like I said if it's not spelled out very well I end up going to my local Hobbytown store. I once tried to bull my way through and burned up some of the wiring, so I learned my lesson.
Very nice work brother 👍

Yeah it was a bummer for me. For some I am sure it is fine but i like my stuff a certain way.
Thanks for your comprehensive and tireless reviews of light kits! As someone who had to use a different battery to power all hundreds of lights he's put on an RC crawler, I really appreciate your effort and informations! 🙏🙂 Too bad this one is trash. :p

Yeah i was super excited for this one too....
Having had more or less all the same issues as you, I have found I can get all the functionality I want with the cheap light kit with the fake tamiya branding by using the blue LEDs on the rear and putting the steering indicators on there own channel. That way breaks lights, tail lights and reversing lights all work automatically, the headlights toggle on and off with channel 3 and channel 4 or 5 (depending on what else I have connected up) lets me manually indicate when I want to, rather than ever time I adjust the steering which on my trail trucks would be just about the whole time I am driving otherwise. I just wish they had gone with normal white LEDs rather than the blue ones, as you need to either swap them out yourself or life with the slight blue colour coming through the coloured clear paint on the rear lights. The traxxas advanced light kit might be a good option as well, if only it did not cost as much as often pay for a Tamiya kits, and give the choice between a £110 addon for lights or another basic 2WD RC car I will take the new car KIT every time. :-)

See I have done the same thing. Its like most of the functionality is there but then i need to modify it. This is why i just go for my trick rc . It just works.
I got the Killer Body light set for the Toyota 86 body they sell (also got the widebody kit). As I have yet to get a chassis up and running for the car, it's all still in the bags from factory. Got the light kit as well to help justify the shipping. Shipping to Australia is hell. I know we get nearly as hot as Hell, and pretty much all our animals and some of our plants will try to kill you, but Australia isn't hell. As for the 86 body, was thinking a TA02 chassis, as I have pretty much a complete one, just in bits. Had a bunch of bits given to me and bought a mostly built kit sometime ago. Think I might need some screw bags as well.....

The TA02 is my fave onroad car so that could be good!
Thank you, I'm having a hard time understanding the kit I got from Killerbody for my drift car. Doesn't make sense

I agree, they rarely make any sense.
You need to buy a trx6 hauler and do a review on installing the (GT Power Pro A60) This unit is three in one system

I do have that system and will try and review it soon.
Well in an old car with a generator like my 58 Studebaker the lights get dim at idle and get brighter when you accelerate, because the generators don’t really charge at idle, so it’s sorta realistic

How many volts do the right run off of

Standard receiver voltage. That is usually from 5-6v.
I mostly use that Knockoff Tamiya light kit

I sure if you have the body its a lot easier but still....such odd functionality and why arent the signal inputs labeled!
Well, guess a company can't be good at everything they put out.

What a piece of garbage unfortunately. Seems to me that mytrick-rc has the best light units so far. Unfortunately they're a bit expensive.
@AMPROEngineering
Жыл бұрын
Yeah they are the best. They cost a little more but the time savings ends up offsetting that cost.
