E36s are the best track car. That's why Spec3 is doing so well as a racing series. It doesn't take much for these to be extremely capable vehicles. People tend to go overboard with them throwing parts at them when. Most of the stock suspension and all of that is perfectly fine but people insist on swapping racks, doing E46 control arms, rear camber arms, etc. It's not needed.

mad at myself for selling the 2 E36 i had but priorities kicked in. Definitely want another one!

Awesome driving! E36 is a good chasiss for track, no doubt. I also have one. Question: I notice in your video that when shifting to higher gears it looks like the clutch needs to absorb the rpm diff between gears. It seems to be a common issue in M5x engines. Any thoughts? It really is unpleasant for me on track

@@BlakesGarage huge expense and not sure whether in M50 engines the rev hang comes from ecu mapping or lazy o2 sensors

The E36 has a sharper and lighter steering than the BMWs that came after it.

Wow man, way faster lap time then my last session at Thunderhill, 95 318is with an m50 swap! I noticed your steering effort was less then mine, I just installed SLR arms and a zhp rack so Im confident its been mitigated but, what ratio rack are you running? Cheers! '

This was actually a stock rack from what I remember. My personal E36 I have MRT Bumpsteer kit and a Z3 rack and it’s absolutely amazing. 2.3 turns Lock to lock or less so quickly on center.

@@BlakesGarage yoo dude, thanks for actually getting back to me! I have the bump/roll center correction kit from slr as well. Car is currently getting APR studs, APR rod bolts, better rod bearings, MLS gasket , Dr vanos stage 2 and I now have apex ec7r and nittos. Prepping for a supercharger build, haven't got to drive the car in a couple months, can't wait to drive her again! I'm in a Grey e36 if you ever see one at the tracks in norcal

@@flunkie91 this was a buddy’s car I have 12k front and 10k springs on my E36 vert. Swaybars are just some old used Turner ones not sure if the size

Dammmm it man. That looked fun as hell. This may sound weird but I want to see a track battle between an E36 M3 and the 2022 GR86 using same non-biased driver.
