Took me 30 seconds to take apart and took over a year to look this up.

Haha yes! I think if it was a bit easier to put back together or more obvious it would be a 4 or a 3. I think the 5 level is because of the putting together part.
What you described is exactly what happened to me. Came apart quite quickly and took me ages to get back together. However this was my first puzzle and I look forward to doing more of the hanayama puzzles

Sorry. I’m new to puzzles. This one took me a year to solve... picking it up maybe twice a month. You are absolutely right. If you don’t understand how it comes apart, you will have an extremely hard time putting it back together. I didn’t think to put them side by side... I kept trying to slide the spheres together from the outside in and let the brackets sit in place. I had to watch this video to remember how mine even came apart. And then I instantly knew what to do. Guess I better go back down to a 3.... thank man!

Just like you I completely forgot how it came apart.. big mistake and unsolvable at that point. So I learned, watch closely how it comes apart :D

I got this as a random stocking stuffer for Christmas and solved it pretty fast but, as you said, not understanding how I solved it, I spent way too long trying to shove the two halves back together. The solution is so simple and elegant I'm kicking myself now. Thank you for the solution, it reminded me to think outside of the box; brute force is rarely the answer and I should have realized I was on the wrong track far sooner than I did. Lesson learned!
I loved this puzzle far beyond its difficulty rating. Something about the motion and tactile pleasure makes this my favourite Hanayama puzzle.
Best Puzzle solving channel love your pace and just the vibe is cool right on!
You are right. I accidentally opened it in 30 seconds. Took me an hour to put it back together. Now I know how to fix it if my sinblings tear it apart. Your solutions are for people who have done it But want to be sure to do it again easy. You are a life saver.

Easier reassembly: 3:50 - keep them on the table and just slide them into the parallel position across the table before any tipping together. But I’ll admit I needed this video to get started.

I have just bought this , it's quite easy, but also beautiful, and it has fascinating moves. I would recommend it.
This is surprisingly easy for a level 5/6 puzzle in my opinion.

I'm getting the full set of these puzzles. I used to collect Rubix cubes but now these little gadgets are my new favs.
The picture on the back of the box gives it away, I wasn't surprised when you did it.
Thank you! I had them been separated for literally more than 2 years....I finally assembled them!
I am loving this hanayama puzzles they look so good
And I buying this. Was able to figure it out prior to the solution. It's just so nicely made
would make a great fidget device... with an actual reward at the end 👍
I love having this as a kind of fidget device as the engineering is so smooth and satisfying, that it’s always next to me and has a long appeal long after “solving” it. I looked up this video though as after playing with it for a few years, I suddenly noticed the holes in the inside of the marble and wondered if there had been an extra part which needed to be moved to one side of the marble, maybe with a spin, before the marble part would slide apart, and maybe I had dropped it without realising when I first solved it. Glad it seems there isn’t, but now I wonder if there should be to make this really a 5/6 difficulty as I think with that addition, few people would stumble on getting it apart, let alone back together.
So true about assembly, was having fun looking at others. I think good analogy is to think about screw thread. This one is easy, but beautiful.
love your vids man keep making more
Yeah, I, too, was thinking that lining up that line with the lines on the cube was the way to go! Not joking! :)
Thanks for the video. It is a puzzle that is easy to solve but challenging to put it back.
My first one was level 1 no problems under 3 minutes. My second was this one in the video 6 hours to solve 🤯 . These things are so much fun !!
something funny i noticed is if you go to the link in the description to buy one...the image of it is already in the position to be disassembled.
I bought this for my bud as he loves such puzzles. thanks for the video
Love these videos and honestly feel asleep to this man talking idk why but its calming no homo bro
This is the first puzzle i got the solution just by looking. I am happy i am making progress.
Been there done that.. solved it fast and was also able to put it back together again and I was even able to take it apart once more... and then the problems arrived and I could simply not for the living daylight put it back together again for the second time , and it was so problematic that I had to cheat and look online for a solution.. Overall, I really like this puzzle.. heavy and wellmade to a point that you wanna challange other with it.. it feels nice in the hand.. I was so fund of it, that I now taken a dive into more of these puzzles as this item was a great ambassador to create an interrests for other puzzles in the same league. Very nice product
Omg, that looks so satisfying
Don't know how I stumbled across your vids, but you encouraged me to buy some hanayama puzzles, and this was my first one. Really lovely piece of engineering, feels so good to just fiddle with it. Personally I found it quite difficult (video makes it look easy, but when you're new to these metal puzzles it took me a while to crack, and then even longer to put it back together). The ball 'sticks' sometimes when you rotate it, so I was convinced there was some internal mechanism going on.

Wow!!! Incredible with only 4 pieces!!!💖
Hi Mr. Puzzle & Guests. I'm a big proponent of cherishing easy puzzles & making them difficult by implementing a 2 minute time limit and or behind the back solving.
In my experience, this should not be a 5 star puzzle, I got it appart and back together for the first time in under 10 minutes. It's a little disappointing, but I must say that it's quite a satisfying object to fidget with. The move is really pleasant to execute so it will get a place of choice on my desk
I'll use your link to buy this puzzle in a few days. This will be my first puzzle. I like this.

Apparently some puzzles could be very easy for some people and extremely difficult for others, and the other way around for others. This is the 1st Hanayama I failed to solve :( and I have solved almost all hanayamas of levels 5 and 6 (except maybe 2 or 3 which are still in progress)

Thanks for this video..Took it apart a month ago but couldn't get it together until I saw this...now my hubby and kids are trying to figure out how to break it apart so they can try to put it back together.....lol only I know the magic
Thank m8 4 the vid u make it look easy 😁😁👍👍
love these hanayama ones :D
I had to watch this to assemble, thanks.
Everything he said in this video was the God honest truth. I took it apart with no problem and I knew it had to be aligned back up but I had no idea about the twist rofl!
............. wow I feel stupid. I understood what I did with the marble, but didn't pay attention to what I did with the outer box, so I kept trying to put the marble back, but couldn't figure out why the outer box wouldnt fit... yeah bad me not looking at the whole.
On the Hanayama website it now says it's rated 4 stars. However I bought one this week and it still says 5 stars on it - guess maybe I got some old stock? 4 stars is still a bit high - I'm not an experienced puzzler (but have watched a number of videos on puzzles), took me 10-15 mins of casual playing around to solve it. Assembly was much more difficult, took closer to half an hour and it's still a bit fiddly.

+OhSoUnicornly Yes, it seems Hanayama is varying the difficulty level of some puzzles after some time based customer feedback. Good move from my point of view.
Very good video! You deserves an abo...
It is a very nice puzzle. The randomness of it falling apart in my hands presenting the internal shape of the marble made it a bit too easy though. I watched this video to confirm I discovered the "correct" way to solve it.
Elegant geometry!!
I got this but I was really disappointed because I just twisted it once and it came apart. You're right though, getting it reassembled is a lot harder
Hanayama Puzzles(Huzzles as they are called here) come in different boxes in Asia. (I'm guessing the same is true for each distributor)

Unfortunately they are release with some delay here in Europe. Next time when I'm in China I will look for some new stuff. I think also in China they should be released earlier than here.
Ok, kinda' late to the show here, but after watching your solution I came up with a slight modification to it for people with small hands or lacking dexterity. I start with the pieces setup just like you show in your video, however, instead of picking them up I leave them standing on the table and slide them towards each other. Once they're in position, one behind the other, it's much easier to then slowly twist them together rather than trying to hold each "unit" in your hands. That's really my only complaint with Hanayama puzzles, they're machined so smooth that they can be difficult to reassemble because they're so smooth and slippery. Thanks for the videos and "Keep on Mr. Puzzling" !! :)
Could be a good one to challenge friends with (or at least my friends who will inevitably try and use brute strength to open it)
Thanks mate.
Has anyone else noticed the hole in the very middle????? In my instructions it encourages you to look at the inside surfaces of the marble. I've also noticed yours has a larger hole than mine. I wonder what that hole is for? Could it be an unused way to make the puzzle harder, by inserting a ball bearing or pin? Then the correct orientation would also be needed to drop the pin / bearing due to gravity and slide the two parts of the marble apart?

Great idea! It's way too easy to be a level 5 puzzle as it is.

I did notice that and still wonder what the reason for it is. I can't imagine it doesn't serve any purpose, these things are so well made. I think this puzzle is very cool but I don't like how slippery it is to maneuver the marble pieces when they aren't together. It seems almost life a flaw. I couldn't figure out getting it together and lost my patience and looked here for the answer. I like the look of this puzzle very much and the weight of it. I just do not lie the way the 2 halves move way too easily when they are apart. Thanks for the video.. Now I can sleep 😉
Thank you someone did disassemble it . Then they gave me it back so i had no idea at all . When i got it back was first time touching it .
as others said, I put it apart Ina few minutes and then struggled unsuccessfully for weeks to put it back together. putting the parts together as in 2:18 in the video it easily comes all together without effort!
THANK YOU
This puzzle is very hard. I love Hanayamma puzzles.

Yes...4/6..but how long did you have to manage the puzzles symmetry before displaying it!?
Ours has been apart for over 1 year and I just put it back together in 3 seconds, DAMN YOU MAN ( just kidding ) thanks
that was quite easy.
Thank you thank you :-)
Only just noticed that the solution (or rather the correct placement of frame and marble to untwist it) is on the back of the box.
Nice
Can someone explain why hanayama allowed the left-hand photo on the rear of the packaging to be printed? Also the current iteration has terrible tolerances, has larger gaps and is easier to solve by accident! I know because I purchased my 2nd one a couple of days ago.

So i bought the puzzle and my dad wanted to look at it, he gave it to me in peaces and beacouse of this an easy puzzle beacame a nightmare
