    I have a 125g tank that had african cichlids and one bristlenose pleco that where never quarantined. I'm getting into mollies etc now and have a QT tank. I recently sold the cichlids and all that remains in the 125g is the bristlenose which I plan on quarantining with the new fish when I start the med trio. My question is, what should I do to the 125g make sure nothing is lurking in there? The only thing I suspect the bristlenose could have is internal parasites. Any suggestions would be appreciated

    I have a beta fish that has been unable to kick his fin rot for a very long time. I bought some of this medication, but it comes in small packets that say to medicate with one packet per every 10 gallons. He lives in a 1.6 gallon tank, and I am not sure how to portion his medication properly, as it’s unknown to me how much is in the packet in the first place. Any advice? Do you think I should invest in a set of tiny measuring cups for this?

  • @JHAquatics

    You really want to weigh it on a good electronic scale. Then divide that by 10 and come up with the smaller dose. I would try a little marine salt first and some west Indian almond leaves. But if you want to use the E.M.E. use 2/10th of that package. Weighing medicating is much better.

    The box says do a dose. Wait 24 hrs. Do another dose. Wait 24 hours. Then do a 25% water change and dose again. So you can wait to do the water change for a few days? Should you not dose more without a water change? Are the directions on the box not as effective? Or overdosing by adding the second dose before the 25% water change?

  • @Y2J3469
    @Y2J34692 жыл бұрын

    When using Cory’s trio, salt is soooo not necessary. Indeed, it is trite to say that there are a myriad of reasons why Cory doesn’t use it as a part of his fish medication kit and has stated that over and over and over again. Salt kills catfish, loaches and plants. Using the Trio cures everything and than some that marine salt would cure but is way more safe, efficient and has a broader range of circumstances that it can cover. Bad advise dude and you don’t even provide a disclaimer when not to use marine salt so that new fish keepers do not kill and cause havoc to fish.
