E H Shepard The Man and the Artist

A six min video on the life of the illustrator E.H.Shepard.
This video was made some time ago so it has some mistakes. Made as a university project.
But It's clear there's a lot of interest in Shepard's work. He is far more than the children's book illustrator. He worked in Punch as a satirist and served in the first world war as a war artist. His life and work is truly remarkable.

As an old swedish man I am a great fan of Milnes, and Shepards work of art. The illustrations are so close to the lovely stories. The english humor manifests by using funny un-logic, and sometimes totally clear logic in philosophies of the toy animals. Funny for kid's, and funny for adults. Masterpieces! What I can't stay is that Disney have ridiculed these arts into flat crap, totally unworthy the originals. They should not ridicule the core of soul, as belongs to these figures. Why can't they write their own stories? Because it is easier to make money to steal already made sucesses. Snow white, Cinderella, Sleeping beauty, and lot's of other classics. They roll on like bulldozers.

Unfortunately there’s lots of similar examples. But at least the books are available for all to enjoy.🙂

@@Watermillfilms I know that sir, and I happen to have very good translations into swedish, that made my kids happy. Brita af Geijerstam was a splendid translator, that made Puh very loved in Sweden too.

Agreed. Disney has destroyed AA Milne and EH Shepard’s creations. All for greed. Nothing more.🇬🇧

I think the original film is styled with a Shepard feel.

I love how the end credits of The Tigger Movie retell the film's story with drawings done in the style of Shepard.

@@Watermillfilms Backgrounds are ok perhaps, But the harsh accents, the unsubtle coloring.and the weird Pillar box red T shirt, but no pants combo, and hmm the Gopher, did it really need a zany character?? 🙄 about as subtle as a brick in the face, on repeat. They bought the Brand.

I think I might have one of his drawing pencils... probably not worth as much.
Good video, thank you. But it would have been much better to avoid this mouse cursor on the screen.
