@@crispy_338 Sorta, I speak far more English now but grew up going to French schools. But stopped after a while, so now I am in between two languages basically without a 100% grasp on either. Not saying I am completely clueless, but I do tend to mess up from time to time so forgive me if I do!

People pronounce it differently. Most say muh-cob-ray some say muh-carb or muh-cob

@@Xpyder187 Yeah, I say it as MUH-cob personally, and without Homestar Runner I probably wouldn't know the word macabre when I first heard this in 2018.

This is the first time Papa Nihil and Sister Imperator meets ❤️ Prequelle is about the black plague and Dance Macabre is what the infectious did when they found out. Just throw one hell of a party and dance all night before they died.

The lore behind all the songs, videos and albums is amazing.

It wasn't a party. The weird guy at the door wasn't lying- it's an occult ritual. It's why the guy who insisted on coming inside for the "party" ended up getting sacrificed

Great reaction, and your description of the song is spot on. Know that in the chorus he is singing "i just wanna be, wanna bewitch you..." At first I thought he said "be with you", but in classic Ghost style, its "bewitch". Spillways and Dance Macabre are two of the most poppy/catching songs by Ghost. You could try Squarehammer or Rats next.

So other people can fill you in on the Ghost lore. As for the song title; it's from Black Plague times. The Danse Macabre was essentially a party for the end of the world. "We're all probably gonna die tomorrow so let's drink and dance and orgy and party hard."

"I just wanna be, wanna bewitch in the moonlight" as in "Be with you", such a simple lyric twist that's quite brilliant and catchy

this has the beat of a song that a bride and groom dance too at a goth wedding

Liked Ghost since Tobias came out with this band, (took a few albums before people figured out who he actually was) and I was expecting more blistering fast metal riffs, blast beats and cookie monster vocals and was pleasantly surprised to hear someone going back to late '70's/early '80's rock and metal styles like Blue Oyster Cult. Some people call it "Scooby Doo" rock and I can't get mad about that, it's accurate and it's so fun and catchy; don't be mad haters because they guy can write pop hooks and put them to hard rock/metal songs all day long, it's much harder to do than it sounds on a finished album or song.

One of my biggest pet peeves is how folks pronounce this word 😆 it’s nobody’s fault, silent letters are weird. I just watched a lot of Elvira as a teen so it’s burned into my brain.
