AS3X® Technology

I moved up to a 14.8V 3000 mAh and it is Vicious unlimited power. Getting 8 min flight time with proper throttle management. Added 5% negative elevator at 1/2 Flaps & 10% negative at full flaps. Can set it down like Pappy Boyington. BLACK SHEEP... Happy Veterans Day.

I love that this warbird is one of the very few, if not the only Marines version.
Great flyer
Loved it, Good video of my favorite plane. I have one too and Like you I re-painted mine in the Black Sheep Scheme. Number 86 Greg "Pappy" Boyington. I've had it for almost a year and she's my go to plane at the field. Love those WW2 Warbirds. Keep 'em Flying.

I Love Corsairs but just couldn’t do this one because of the green and I not much on repainting planes.

I've been looking at this as a next Warbird after the P-39, but I'm on the fence between it and the Flightline 190 or Dora

Wesley was thinking about picking one of these up? Did you fly that bird on 4s? What stopped me was the 3S esc? Love the FMS V3 1700mm version tho?

Yep I fly it on 4s on the stock ESC you just don’t want to fly full throttle for extended amounts of one but I have around 50 flights on it with no issues
Great flying! Please correct me if I'm wrong but they don't advertise this plane as having Safe Select like the other 1.2m birds from eflite. Does it have it?

No it doesn’t although they are updating most of them to have it now so it could change any day

Your correct I didn’t realize it only has AS3X my bad 🤗 I never use safe turns out this is the only 1.2 without it
Can you tell me what paint and Color you used to paint out the plane? Did you just paint over the Decals? I just ordered this Corsair and will have it by Wednesday.

Model air by vellejo 71.005 Gray Blue and I painted over the stripes there paint not stickers so worked great all the markings are actually the factory stickers

Merry Boozer RC Is this to give a Weathered look? Looks more grey than blue. Any idea what the Match is for the EFlite Corsair Blue is?
I have one and I am terrified by it. Being a newer (and self teaching) pilot I got a lot more Cessna time in front of me before I chance it again. I flew it once and did notice the tip stall if you turn too slow. I ended up just gliding it in and belly landing on some thick 3 foot tall grass. Nice and soft & back to the hanger until I get some skills...

I'm new also. I would like to get it but it seems like it likes to nose over on takeoffs and landings. How did it go for you since you wrote this?

@@greeneking77 I have only had it up 5-6 times since then. Have not noticed nosing over on take offs. To cure the tip stall issues I just fly it very fast in a large field and make my final way up high, nose it down as needed and straight in to land. I flare a little high sometimes but dead straight until it's on the ground. It still scares me. I am so afraid of destroying my beautiful toy that I really cannot enjoy it. Last time out I nosed over my FMS Cessna. Repair parts set me back $84 on a $150 plane! Ugh!
I got an f15 eflite that I pretty much give up on flying 🥺. It loses signal all the time and has crashed landed pretty well but just cant keep it going had tough luck with it but great sounding plane. Not sure if I got a dud but anyways i love the eflite planes so i dont think that the one I got was a good representation of the products. I'm looking to buy another one is there an eflite for an intermediate that you recommend? One that isn't known for having issues with dropping reception to the reciever?

E-Flite P-47 all day best plane they make. Also range check your models it might be your transmitter having problems not the plane

Funny you say that. I used a brand new AR630 in my Arrow Hobby Viper and I lost single on maiden after about 40m. She kjuat glided away from me and nose dived into the dirt. I tried her again later that day after some ground control surface testing about 80m away. Everything was fine. Soon as I threw it into the air she kept losing signal and eventually crashed. Sent the RX back ot the shop for investigating.
Hi Merry Boozer I am hoping you can help. I am between the eflite P51, and Corsair. From your personal preference, which one do do prefer to fly? Ive had the p51d 1450mm FMS and I was not really a big fan. Although that model suffered a underpowered motor. It did not feel very locked in and stable either. I can only assume the flight characteristics between the p51 and corsair are much different. Since the wings are of much bigger area on the corsair, giving more lift and better overall stability. ( dam tip-stalls on that laminar flow wing / p51 ) I dont want to fill up a football field x 2 of flight area just to fly a plane. I prefer smaller models, they are more fun since the tricks and recoveries happen in a smaller radius to me. I would say I am fairly advanced in flying skills. So with slow flight characteristics, my skill and medium speed turn radius in mind. Which do you think is best suited for the criteria?

The 1200mm E-Flite P51 is probably the best flying P-51 on the market the Corsair also flys really good but if I could only choose one it would be the Mustang it’s such an excellent flyer and on 4s it’s a rocket

@@monster2680 I have the Spektrum DX6 transmitter. Is it a good idea for me to combine flaps and retracts into one channel if I want to assign SAFE for this model?

@@aragorn318 Hi just read your comment. I have the same config ordered - so the DX6 6 channels are not enough for SAFE to work? How did you solve this? Get a transmitter with more channels?

@@neonxgenesis123 Yes, I bought the NX6 last spring which has 7 channels and sold off my DX6 last summer.
Boozer, you mention that this bird has SAFE also and I see that it has the AR636A in it but not even the manual confirms that SAFE can be set. Is the SAFE function on this bird an "all the time on" thing and not selectable or is it like the normal SAFE Select BNF's and it just doesn't mention it in the manual? Hi Dave. You are correct. This doesn’t have SAFE. I think Wes just misspoke a bit because all the other 1.2 warbirds from Horizon have SAFE. Happy flying and have a great day!

Naw bud. It's got the AR636A receiver in it where it would need an AR636B to activate SAFE. I just got this bird in and I am putting a spare reprogrammed with SAFE "B" unit thanks to Dave Marshal and his AR636 programming series! I plan to try and maiden it with SAFE on! I don't see any videos on YT where that has been done. I'm not sure why HH hasn't brought this thing back out with SAFE and also 4s capable, like they did with the P-51 "June Nite". I'll let you know how my 'safe maiden' goes. (Unless you're interested in subscribing to my channel in effort to continue show "brotherhood" with the R/C Community?) ; ) I MAY even "Papa Dot" that bad boy before I maiden it, we'll see..... Do you have a instructor. Also do you fly at a club. To be honest o do not feel this is a good choice for a first airplane
Roll rate is super slow..I think 4s would be a nice option.

No that was my bad it only came with as3x although you could add it if you do Forword programming and a new receiver

@@MerryBoozerRC ahh ok. So say taking out the stock RX and replacing it with say an AR630 is the only way to get safe on this plane? Which spektrum Safe RX would you recommend? I'm a little lost with which one is better/newer as they are all pretty much the same price over here in UK. Cheers

Using a DX8 the retracts only work on the throttle stick ?

Then you have something plugged in wrong retracts and throttle have nothing to do with each other

It's a toss between a p-51 and this one. I fly this most of the time in the simulator.
