DZONGU: A Restricted Valley Nestled Silently in North Sikkim
Dzongu, North Sikkim: A Distinctive World Reserved For The Lepchas.
70 km away from Gangtok in North Sikkim is Dzongu, a land reserved for the Lepchas - the original inhabitants of Sikkim.
The hidden and restricted nature of any land makes it more unique and unspoilt. It also adds a quality of mystery around it. And if that place is generously gifted with nature’s bounty, visiting it makes it even more interesting and worthwhile. Among the many lesser-trodden and offbeat places of SIkkim, the Dzongu valley in North Sikkim is perhaps the most beautiful of all.Plucked straight out of a fairytale, the region of Dzongu comprises 30 sparsely populated mountain villages that sit cosily among the deep gorges, lush forested hills and gorgeous valleys of this area. Nestled in the foothills of world’s third highest mountain, Kanchenjunga, it is the last piece of land before the mighty Himalayas starts its journey of standing tall. Dzongu is one of those places where SIkkim’s culture can be witnessed and experienced in all its glory.
One of the most interesting aspects of Dzongu is that it has been established as an official reserve for the Lepcha tribe. The Lepchas are the oldest tribe of Sikkim and are considered the aboriginal inhabitants of the state.
Of Late, the region has gained certain popularity among nature lovers, culture buffs and local experience seekers. As Dzongu comes to the Sikkim tourism limelight, it is important to bring forth the rich local culture of the Lepchas. We just hope the growth of this region in the ever-expanding map of Sikkim tourist places is balanced and planned. And that the growth happens keeping the local communities and its unspoilt biodiversity in mind.

What a beautiful wrap to a stunning series on Sikkim. I am certain that each and everyone of us, who have watched your Sikkim series have made a mental note of planning a trip here sometime soon. Personally for me, I am trying really hard to practice JOMO (Joy of Missing Out) but I keep slipping back to the FOMO zone.
Beautifully captured, illustrated and explained.
All of your Sikkim vlogs are amazing sir…I love ur voice sir
ur travel videos always has a story to share ❤... It's not like a travel guide video that most travellers share... It's a people n nature crentric content that brings so much tranquility while watching ❤... Great work dude... N kudos to the cinematography 😊
You really manage to bring out the best of every location by capturing those small simple moments and yet very big and satisfying for the soul!
Dzongu is a quaint hamlet w/lovely local traditions - Grateful to u n ur team for capturing n sharing this lovely untouched by commercial encroachment area. The Lepcha communitys traditions was fascinating to learn about. The school u shared here was so heart warming to see. And ur homestay ws lovely. Indeed a soulful walk across the bridge - Gurudongwa Lake & Buddha park and the snowcapped range - Awesum 👍🙏❗

Excellent presentation bro❤❤❤

You are amazing brother ❤️💯
HI! i love watching your vlogs. One thing i would like to suggest you to do in dzongu is "Tholung trek" which starts from one of the last village of Dzongu. Its a three days and two nights trek. its really a escape from the hustle and bustle . Also at the end of the trek you can take a dip in the hot spring of Dzongu.
Amazing and niche content. Also recommend you to travel to less explored Arunachal Pradesh truely hidden gem of India.
❤
👍
💛💚❤️😊
I don't know who is the photographer but he has the best angle concept.
I have been to sikkim but the way you have presented the state i feel I have not gone there
Hi. Trying to figure out the logistics of getting to Lingthem. Some websites say the motorable road was destroyed in 2016 and we have to cross the river by boat and then proceed further. To get to Upper Dzongu. Is that correct?
The Kanchanjungha can be seen from the homestay?
u must visit off beat North Bengal & Dooars
Nice ❤❤ in which month you travelled
When you show videos like where you were just trekking or mountain ranges, you could play the song Phir se aiyo badra bidesi from Namkeen movie, it should be out of patents . It will add to the scenery you show so Vividly 🎉
When u said "bohat logo ki" and then u paused and said "jaan halak mein aa sakti hai" 😂😂 I got ur point.😅😂

Can foreigners also get permission to go there.?
Please share contact of car and driver and permit for going there
U keep going 🫡
Content is very good but a big reason for under rating of this channel is- 1)Speaking English in the most of the part of your videos. 2)Staying at luxurious home stays or resorts which are out of the reach from most of indian people. Until , unless people can’t relate them with your content they are not going to subscribe. This is just a suggestion, you can keep it as you want. 👍
The moment I saw this vlog, I was in love with this place. Probably "Quickly n Slowly" 😂
