Dyson cutting a quarter of its UK workforce
Dyson has revealed plans for 1,000 job losses in the UK.
The manufacturer said the cuts followed a review of its global needs.
It is understood that the decision is not linked to the UK general election, as the process had begun beforehand.

Singapore's productivity is far superior to the Uk's. Everything in Europe is expensive. Especially manufacturing. Ask the Germans. They're outsourcing due to spiralling energy costs.

Nope. 90% of its revenues come from Asia. It’s a major exporter from the UK to Asia.

Of course he is, he just paid about €30 mio for his new house - in Ireland, of course, not in Brexit Britain… even though he soooooo believed in it.
Nothing New, Dyson made billions but when times are hard the workforce are thrown away as useless items.

Amazon full size vacuum cleaner, not amazing, but does the job £30. Replacement battery for Dyson vacuum £60 (quality terrible needs replacing every year). Cheapest Dyson vacuum begins at £330.

Im a carpet fitter have been for over 20 yrs . Had all kinds of vacuum cleaners over the years. i can honestly say dyson are the most over complicated of all. They break very easily and clog all the time. I carry a miele on the van now . Havent looked back ...id also strongly recommend good old Henry's

Can't think of a single British brand I'd buy in almost any industry as a consumer. "Buy British" is just code for "spend twice the money for barely better quality".
Dyson products are all style and no substance give me a Henry anytime. He moved most of his his production abroad years ago to lower labour costs. Another one of these plastic patriots

R&D stayed here. All production moved abroad.a That r&d part did mean they could still ship to EU without tariffs under the "40% British input" part of the Boris Deal. Anyone who buys anything from Dyson needs their heads looking at.
Absolutely boycott all disown products. Vote with your feet.

This has been happening with Dyson for years, so nothing new. Took the manufacturing abroad a few years ago, tries to convince people he's a patriot however this sort of news tells a very different story.
I would imagine these people were working on the electric car which was scrapped.

With unions striking demanding higher and higher wages companies moved house to lower wage economies. Now we are nothing more than a service economy.
Mean while more fast food outlets open
so labour announce they are strengthening workers rights, unions, increasing minimum wage etc. And dyson cutting 1000 jobs. Interesting timing. Sure this wont be the last, id do the same if i had staff right now. Cost of any access baggage will also be past to consumers and fuel inflation so better now than later.

Dyson had made this decision waaaaay before the election so it would have happened no matter which party was in power
I remember the first Dyson Hoover's they weighed a ton, how the elderly carried them upstairs is a mystery. I prefer Shark Hoover's.
Try dropping prices, increase turnover, therefore increasing profits, keeping on staff, easy economics unless your a greedy sod

It happens every time any company moves anything overseas. They only do it because it's cheaper, and sooner or later your position as an onshore employee will be 'surplus to requirements'. Happened to me 3 times in my career, thankfully I'm now out of the rat race.
I'm absolutely fine with him supporting Brexit but cutting jobs WHILE make very healthy profits is a bit much 🤔
