Dyson cutting a quarter of its UK workforce

Dyson has revealed plans for 1,000 job losses in the UK.
The manufacturer said the cuts followed a review of its global needs.
It is understood that the decision is not linked to the UK general election, as the process had begun beforehand.

    Amazon full size vacuum cleaner, not amazing, but does the job £30. Replacement battery for Dyson vacuum £60 (quality terrible needs replacing every year). Cheapest Dyson vacuum begins at £330.

    Im a carpet fitter have been for over 20 yrs . Had all kinds of vacuum cleaners over the years. i can honestly say dyson are the most over complicated of all. They break very easily and clog all the time. I carry a miele on the van now . Havent looked back ...id also strongly recommend good old Henry's

    I suspect Dyson have finally been found out for charging hugely greater prices for stuff that one can buy from others at much less cost.

    It must have been a complete coincidence that Boris deal with EU meant Dyson only had to keep 40% British input to stay tariff free to Europe. What a con!!

    This has been happening with Dyson for years, so nothing new. Took the manufacturing abroad a few years ago, tries to convince people he's a patriot however this sort of news tells a very different story.

    so labour announce they are strengthening workers rights, unions, increasing minimum wage etc. And dyson cutting 1000 jobs. Interesting timing. Sure this wont be the last, id do the same if i had staff right now. Cost of any access baggage will also be past to consumers and fuel inflation so better now than later.

    I remember the first Dyson Hoover's they weighed a ton, how the elderly carried them upstairs is a mystery. I prefer Shark Hoover's.

    It happens every time any company moves anything overseas. They only do it because it's cheaper, and sooner or later your position as an onshore employee will be 'surplus to requirements'. Happened to me 3 times in my career, thankfully I'm now out of the rat race.
