The washroom experience at a service station is a familiar one - hand dryers are often slow and unreliable. Welcome Break wanted to put a stop to this by replacing their existing hand dryers with Dyson Airblade™ technology. They wanted to improve the washroom experience for their customers, using the fastest way to dry hands. A total of over 500 Dyson Airblade V hand dryers have been installed in Welcome Break washrooms around the UK by 60 Dyson Field Service Engineers. Visitors to Welcome Break can now dry their hands hygienically in just 10 seconds.

    Hi James, the Dyson Airblade™ Tap is engineered for use in commercial washrooms - where sinks are used solely for hand washing - rather than domestic bathrooms. Many commercial facilities have pre-existing mixer units for water temperature, and the Dyson Airblade™ Tap hand dryer is compatible with most mixer units.

    Actually a good conventional high power hand dryer can also dry the hand in 10sec, with really high speed jets, just very few places have them. (Most hand dryers are slow and crappy though, that's why people used Dyson's immediately think it's the only thing that works.)

    Well the non Dyson had dryers that work really well aren't really conventional hand dryers either - thou I'd say they're common, though plenty changes in 10 years - I definitely think more places have good hand dryers now than then. The air force, which is what there was before in this example is about 20-25 seconds, not the best, not the worst. Most hand dryers now also use less energy than in the past, because they have a small heating element, if any at all, so have a lower power rating, and take half to a quarter as long to dry

    problem with the tap air drier is you cant move the location of the tap. its fixed so water comes down in the same position and same temp and same settings each time... custom positioning and custom use is not there. and the tap sticks out too much, taking most of the sink space up. otherwise looks very good.

    Haven't seen these anywhere yet. I've used the older model that requires you to jerk your hands in and out. Theyre pretty crap and are not hygienic at all because you always touch the sides.The Air Furys are the best, they basically blow your skin off as well as the water. More to the point though, why am I here commenting on hand dryers

  • @dyson

    @dyson

    9 жыл бұрын

    HRHooChicken Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. Dyson Airblade hand dryers use a 400mph sheet of high pressure air to scrape the water droplets off your hands. With the original Dyson Airblade you just need to place your hands in the dryer then draw them out slowly through the airflow, so the water is scraped towards your fingers and away from you. All Airblade's external surfaces have an antimicrobial coating to further reduce the risk of cross-contamination. Other hand dryers don’t filter bacteria and viruses from the washroom air - they suck it in then simply blow it back onto hands. Dyson Airblade hand dryers pass dirty washroom air through a HEPA filter which captures 99.9% of bacteria and viruses. So your hands are dried using cleaner, not dirty air.

    This model is even worse than original. It comes on when and for as long as it feels like. It took us a while to work out that in order to get your hands dry you need to wave them like a lunatic, otherwise it will switch off almost instantly and it takes a while to reengage, presumably due to some ecomental reasons.

    Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. The Dyson Airblade V's capacitive sensors should work responsively. You just hold your hands in front of the sensors,and the machine should activate. If you've noticed a particular Dyson Airblade V machine that doesn't seem to be working effectively or takes an excessive amount of time to activate, please let us know where you saw this. We'll pass the information along to our Airblade team so they can investigate.

    Hi Robert, it's Jack at Dyson. I've replied to your other comment, but to reiterate, all Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers include touch-free operation, and can be activated one-handed. It's not necessary to place both hands in or under the machine to activate the sensors. If you've spotted one that doesn't seem to be working correctly, please email askdysonUS@dyson.com including the location of the venue. Our Airblade team will be happy to reach out to the venue to see if they need any help.

    @dyson

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi Albert, it''s Jack at Dyson. All Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers are engineered for touch-free operation, so there's no need to come into contact with your machine. The Dyson Airblade™ V hand dryer uses a sensor to create a weak electrical field between itself and Earth. When a user puts their hands close to the machine, the field will be distorted. This will be detected as an increase in capacitance at the sensor and the machine will send out sheets of high velocity, HEPA-filtered air. When the hands are removed, the sensor will detect that the fields have returned to normal and will shut off. If you're worried the sensor isn't working correctly we'd be happy to help further. Just let me know which country you're based in, and I'll be able to put you in touch with your local Dyson Airblade Support team.

  • @dyson

    @dyson

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi Albert, thanks for this additional detail. The flooring material - and for that matter, the users' footwear - will not make any difference to how the sensor performs. We'd just recommend placing both hands under the lower part of the machine, just below where the airflow aperture is located, so the sensor can detect them. As mentioned, no part of the machine needs to be touched to switch it on: kzread.info/dash/bejne/o22bsrWzm7vbh7g.html If you'd like any help from our local team, you can find the correct contact details on the Dyson Taiwan website: www.dyson.tw/support/contactus.aspx

It's unusual for customers to request a louder appliance, and indeed our engineers have focused a lot of attention on making our current hand dryer range quieter than their predecessors. For example the latest Dyson Airblade™ V hand dryer is 35% quieter than the original, thanks to a redesigned impeller and inner diffuser, and a reprogrammed Dyson digital motor V4. The air aperture has also been reduced in slot size, to reduce overall noise.

From far outside the washroom the noise is loud, I thought someone was using a giant hose to clean the bathroom. I think the decible level must be very high and that level can damage infant hearing and also hearing-aid wearers. As this is in a library, the noise outside the washroom in the bookshelf area is very annoying. I won't be using it. There was nothing wrong with our old dryers!
