Dyno Day/Road Trip Tune Up + Why My WS6 Ran SO BAD!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Much to my surprise, the root of many issues that the car was having was likely due to the set of E3 spark plugs that were in the car. Check out the video for further explanation.

    To do the back plug on a f body just remove the passenger side coil packs and u can get to it from the top very easily

    Best way to do the plug replacement is to remove the coil packs and brackets. Way easier and it’s not that complicated to remove. Some spark plugs come with anti seize so def do some research as well.

    You aren't the first person to point that out to me now haha. From here out I will remove the coil packs to do the passengers side. Would be easier overall than getting the car up on the air.

    My friend it sure is a gods blessing that you are a mechanic If you would have to pay for every thing your doing to that beautiful looking silver trans am i bet you would have so much money in the car you could not afford to sell it. i got a 2002 all black pontiac trans am ws6 and i have 5,160 miles on it because i could not afford you to do all your doing. My trans am is not much because every body tells me its to slow. i want to leave it unmolested I watch your videos all the time your great and make it look so easy See you again when a newvideo comes up that i have not seen JOE

    NGK Spark plugs are the best plug out there. I used a Delco for years. Till I switched to NGK. Especially with a combination of MSD wires and in my case Opti spark on my LT1. My LT1 is all MSD ignition..

    Glad I stumbled upon your channel by accident. I live in SE MN and have a 2000 WS6 as well. And I remember seeing your car at a few shows when the previous owner had it. Loved how it sounded, and how the wheel/suspension set up looked. Aiden was selling this while I was searching for a ws6. I considered it before I bought the one I have now lol Anyway, hope to see you and your car out at some gatherings this year! Looks and sounds great man!👌

    Looks like you ended up with a very similar car! Small world huh. Aiden has been really helpful filling in a lot of the blanks on what's all done to the car and it's history. Hoping to make it to more shows in the MSP area. Will be at the Minneapolis Mile for sure! Will be in Marshall for the shades of the past show too.

    I would recommend doing a complete SLP cold air intake kit ( just the aluminum bracket) as it will draw more air from the air dam

  • @Greenlightfilming

    @Greenlightfilming

    What do you think of the SLP intake over a chris1313 setup?

  • @wayne2160

    @wayne2160

    5 жыл бұрын

    GreenLightFilming So I can only talk about my experience but in all my 4th GEN’s I’ve ran the SLP one with a smooth Bellow and it’s worked beautifully and it does have more power. you can also hear more air being sucked into the air box. But in theory by design it does look like the Chris1313 would be a better design. I just went with the SLP cause it was a good price and I had Success with it so I ran it on my other ones as well and I have no regrets.

    I'm happy to see you going to upgrade your intake with an LS6. You should see a nice increase in power with that. Now the dyno is going to be with the LS1 intake correct?

  • @Greenlightfilming

  • @mcfero1

    Since your gonna be installing the ls6 intake you may want to try to like the underside with Mylar type material. You can get it from Home Depot or Lowe’s. You would want the one that has like an air gap in it. I did it on mine and used the aluminum tape on the front and back to keep the stuff in place. If you look on summit they have something similar for around 60$. It would be a good test to see before Intake temp and after with it installed. After driving around with mine you can place your hand on the intake. It doesn’t get very hot. It cost me like 13 dollars or so. Just figured it would be good video material and would like to see the test on another vehicle other than mine with your temp gun.

    Interesting idea. I suppose the engine would heat soak into the manifold over time. I would have to think that any insulation between the two is a good idea. I'll look into doing it, thanks for the tip!

  • @mcfero1

    @mcfero1

    GreenLightFilming no worries I know you’ve done quite a few heat tests already and this one is only a few dollars to try. Here is the summit link www.summitracing.com/parts/hsp-140023?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-heatshield-products&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_qOrqNey4gIVh7jACh06tgR5EAQYASABEgJ_5vD_BwE Says up to 12 horsepower. I saw fasterproms KZread do it with the Home Depot stuff and it definitely is cooler which has to help keep heat out.
