Dynamically Count AutoCAD Blocks with Data Extraction Tables - AU 2020
How can you make sure your block quantities are always up-to-date with the current version of your design?
Block insertions are constantly added and removed throughout the lifecycle of a project and often represent a feature you need to maintain up-to-date quantities for. Data Extraction tables let you do just that by creating a dynamic table of the number of block insertions in your drawing.

Thanks for the video. Just the info I needed. I have dynamic blocks for aluminum framing. Any tips on how to use this to count how many blocks of the same length? ie. how many 2x2 blocks of 12 length, where length is dynamic?
oro puro
is there an option for this in ProgeCAD? i dont have that option under tables in ProgaCAD (Full version), however im interested if there is a LISP or some other form of function that could do this for me. thanks in advance!
Hi, quick question. I ended up on this page trying to find the problem in doing exactly that for some of my drawings. The problem is that in the _dataextraction process, in creating the dxe template the block with their name starting with an asterisk (which from what I see are called "anonymous blocks" are not recognized and not included in the list of objects to select from ... which is just the blocks I need. any way to work around this?
Could this somehow work with the table in a 2d detail drawing file pulling from a 3d model file with the blocks in it? Like an xrefed data extraction?
I'm having problems Inserting the Data Extraction Table into the drawing. I'm not prompted for an insertion point after I click Finish???
