Dynam Waco 50" RC Plane

This Dynam 1270mm Waco is a perfect addition to your rc plane hanger. This Biplane has all the aerobatic capabilities that you'd expect of your classic Biplane if its setup correctly. In this video I fly and tune this plane to get the most from her.

Picked one up by chance a couple months ago. Bought a different plane on FB marketplace when I picked it up he had one sitting in the corner of his office; brand new in the box. Left with two planes for a great deal. I just got it ready this week. Plan to maiden it Sunday. Great video. Enjoy your content. Cheers!

It's great to see this plane available again. I have had mine for years now and it flies fantastic. There is NO better first bi-plane out there. 3300 4s = 8-10m flights. Easy to land, handles grass fine.

A lot of fun with a good old, basic type biplane. I love the graceful, stylish flying you did with the Waco. And I agree with you about that "one more landing" thing. It is always worth it to do 'one more' when you can fly her in with a smooth, gentle landing like your last one. Well done.

Excellent Will. Really well done. I enjoyed hearing your impressions. The Dynam planes fly really well. I had their Tiger Moth. Had a few electronic gremlins, but once I sorted those out it was a awesome flyer. I noticed when you got the cg back a bit it was easier to keep that tail straight on the roll out of the last landings.

Thanks Adam. She's a really wonderful plane. I enjoyed flying her alot. The Dynam models aren't perfect, but for the price and what they offer is wonderful. Yep, its all about finding that ideal CG.. Makes everything work the way its intended.. I'd like to get either the Tiger Moth or the Stearman.. I need a bigger biplane..🤣. Diane is gonna kill me.

Would you recommend this to a first timer? I have experience with drones but nothing like this. Also, if you have cheaper recommendations that’d be great, as I’m new to the hobby and extremely budget-limited. But I do prefer the biplane/classic look (anything prop up to WWII, early is preferable). Smaller is fine as long as it’s not the size of a hotdog hehe

Marcos, I wouldn't recommend this plane for a first RC Plane.. For a few reasons. One, It requires some basic skills on flying a tail dragger plane, which require some rudder skills. Take-offs and landings can be more challenging without a little skill on how to land rc planes well. This plane won't take the rough landings like a well designed trainer can. Two, its got enough power to get you into trouble, but not enough power to get you out of trouble. What I mean is this plane can fly pretty fast and you'll need to be in front of what the plane is doing from a control perspective. Many new pilots have a difficult time controlling the plane 100% of the time vs responding to what the plane is doing. You need a trainer plane that is docile and slow. (I know thats not exciting....). Also, if you enter into a stall situation, some planes can easily power out of the stall and prevent disaster. This plane won't. As you know, a quad has a ability to hover while you are thinking about what/how to maneuver.. An RC Plane is always moving and sometimes its headed for disaster quickly. You need to develop those hand/eye skills before flying the intermediate planes like this Waco... What I'd recommend isn't very exciting, but it is a very capable plane for a new pilot. The RTF includes everything you need to fly except batteries. The Aeroscout and Apprentice are ridiculous looking plane, but they are tough as heck and will fly forever on a small battery. You can really learn how to fly well on either.. Then, get this Waco or whatever intermediate plane you want.. Even a Habu jet... There are some small Tiger Moth biplanes out there in RTF models out there, but I don't have much experience with them. The Hobbyzone Aeroscout. www.horizonhobby.com/product/aeroscout-s-2-1.1m-rtf-basic-with-safe/HBZ380001.html Or the Apprentice. www.horizonhobby.com/product/apprentice-s-2-1.2m-rtf-basic-with-safe/HBZ310001.html

@@SteffenRC Thank you SO MUCH for the thorough reply! I'm OK with going slow, but financially, the options you kindly suggested are out of my price range. Is there an option at around $100 RTF that is somewhat similar in size? I know I'm asking to have my cake and eat it, too, but since you're kind enough to reply, I thought I'd ask.

I wouldn't say underpowered, but the 4S 3300 doesn't give unlimited vertical for sure. I don't think I'd upgrade the power, but it wouldn't be hard to do.. Very fun flying plane though... Thanks for commenting.. Will

After 9 years of flying foam model planes ive had better luck with Dynam Servo,s and esc and motors than all the other brand,s The Retracts were their biggest downfall problem area,s but there servo,s are super durable as are the motors n esc,s Yet they get bashed all the time and i think some of there models are total garbage too like the SR-22 Trainer that thing is a cheap turd...Their AT-6 Texan is a fantastic plane and all i did to make it better was to open up the battery bay for 4s operation...its light and fast as lightning on 4s in stock form

I agree, many folks hear Dynam planes and turn there nose up.. I think this Waco is the best deal out there for sure... Of course, you might want to tweak a thing or two, but that rc modeling.. This is my friends plane, but I sure would like one in my hanger.. Thanks for the comments...
