Dynam Hawker Hurricane V2 Maiden and Post Flight Debrief Let's Go Flying

Ғылым және технология

This HH flys great, crazy unpredictable winds. Had no business flying a warbird. Love how it flew in the winds, fun plane.

Have the Hawker Hurricane all set up now to fly on 4s 2200 batteries and it flies great, I was disappointed that I missed setting the CG up. BLP thank you, Jeff

Thank you for taking a look, I look at total loss crashes as freeing up space for another plane. But still hate it when I do stupid. Jeff

I was so wanting to fly it again and get a landing, I was just off for the gusty conditions, have new gear on order all is good, I take pride in landings but I'm not perfect, I got over it pretty fast, it was a good day at the park, thank you, Jeff

Good flying Jeff, she is nose heavy like a P-51. She is hard to get her planted down, that's when I crashed her. She does fly great, hope she works well for you.

Ricky putting new gear on now, have to do it in stages while the glue sets. Going to put the red gun decals on to help seen it coming in with the trees behind. I still have high hopes for the Hawker Hurricane. We took the super charger off and put the stock exhaust on. 😎 Jeff

Isn't a terrible feeling when you damage a plane on a maiden flight Jeff!! I'm just like you get so annoyed with myself, but you were flying really well and the Hurricane looked amazing!! I've just bought one but I've got to be honest I'm not a Dynam fan!! I hope their quality control has improved the last couple of years!! The sad thing is they make a lot of cool planes just like the Hurricane and I think are the only company making one, thats wingspan is over a metre!! Anyway nice maiden flight!! I'm sure your over the landing by now and I know you managed to fix your plane!! Happy Flying and Greetings From Wales👍😄

Ian I was just enough tail heavy on the maiden, have added a little weight and now perfection in the air. So far this Version 2 landing gear are working very well. I just like looking at the Hawker Hurricane on the ground and in the air. Thank you for taking a look, Wales I'm sure is very beautiful, Jeff

Chuck thank you for taking a look, sure did fly again but my CG was always very neutral if not aft, it just rolled over and went in. Might try to fix it, just letting the Alabama heat help snap the foam back into shape. Jeff

You're certainly making me feel less guilty about rushing to maiden my one and taking it up in a field that I had already considered was too small regarding landing space. I have to ask though: your plane didn't look like the tail-heavy nightmare mine was, where mine too was on a 2200 4S battery. Also, it didn't violently tear off to the left the second it left the ground like mine did. Did your one just so happen to be dialed in stock (someone else on KZread has stuffed lead into the front end of the battery tray on theirs), or are you just very on it with the rudder and elevator? I'm not sure about it pulling to the left on take off 'cause 1; I didn't notice a torque roll when flying straight and level, or when taxiing and 2; the prop is angled off by quite a few degrees to mitigate the torque roll. So I'm wondering if the violent maneuver is also to do with tail-heaviness.

Thank you for taking a look, I just did a terrible job of landing, I've added a little weight to the nose. I use the rudder always with the ailerons. I really like how this flies and looks, landing gear are very good too. I'm always using the rudder on take off. I like 2600 4s or 3300 4s batteries best. Jeff

@@JeffinLowerAlabama I see! That's a bother - my 3000 4S is just a smidge too thick to fit - if were longer and narrower, the canopy would be able to fit on it, but alas, I am stuck with the 2200 it seems. I have some weights coming in the post - I will weigh down the nose and simply practice using the rudder more. I only have two other planes with rudder. One is a parkjet and the adverse roll is really high, so I bank and yank 95% of the time. The other is a little grey Biplane that has a low aileron roll rate and often needs rudder to turn sufficiently. I felt the same impression with the Hurricane, so it practice with it should make the Hurricane easier to manage. :)

Rafael if I'd had just a little more weight in the nose and not slowed down as much it would have been fine. Love how this plane flies now, thank you for taking a look, just like to have fun, Jeff
