Dyna Street Bob Build Ep. 13 " First Ride & New Primary Cover"

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome to another Episode of Martin James Designs. In this episode of the 2007 Harley Davidson Street Bob Build we finish off some small details on the bike.
The bike gets a new primary cover as we take the stock one off one of the bikes in the shop and bring it down to get powder coated.
We also program the Dakota Digital Gauge and then the bike comes off the lift for the first time to go for a test ride around the block!
Thanks to all of you who have been watching this build and subscribe to follow all future builds
Thanks for watching

Hello again Awesome videos Thanks so much. Man I'd wouldn't ride that beautiful bike in the freaking snow after all that work, no way. Couple of questions: How high should I set the upper tubes through the triple trees. Is there a set Harley spec or a set number that you use for this. I know it's less tens 1/2 an inch but can't find it anywhere (tube height over top of upper triple tree) Also I am going to have the tubes and lower legs Powder coated should I clean the insides out with like brake clean so no oil remains when its heated for coating. Thanks so much for the great videos, you make

Hey Kenny! This was one of my older builds! The newest build turned out even better! So I typically set the fork tubes approx 1/8” above the collar of the top triple tree. I wouldn’t go more then that and make sure your fork nuts are not below it. Just above even to 1/8” is what I would recommend. I don’t think there is a standard height and it isn’t to crucial if you stay within the 1/8”. As far as the fork tubes yes I would clean them with brake cleaner and dry them out good. Whoever powder coats them may do it but the cleaner you give them the part the cheaper it would be for you!

Also make sure to replace your fork seals with a fork rebuild kit! Always change your seals when you take your tubes apart.
