Dylan is short NVDA just like Everything money. NVDA AI chips are making the valuation crazy!
Just like Paul from everything money, Dylan is now shorting NVDA. Granted it is not to the same degree I am only risking a couple hundred. Definitely not betting my family account on this. Nvda has gained 38% or one trillion in market cap in the last three-ish weeks and to me that is just not sustainable. What do you guys think?

I've shorted companies on and off for awhile and shorting a company because the shock went up is foolish. You have no short thesis on Nvidia. Saying it's only a small part of portfolio is not a defense all allocations of capital should be thoughtful and intentional.

correct, though i ended it today
My man, don't do it. If you want to short a company then don't choose literally the one company which is dominating the bull run. I agree that valuations matter, but so does momentum. Nvidia has a great story which will likely carry the momentum. This seems more like a gamble out of boredom to me than a trade. There are so many other companies out there with a higher likelihood for success with a short trade. Why do you choose Nvidia over these opportunities? If you are bored go and watch TV. Do not risk your hard earned money.

Greater the risk greater the reward..though if you want short Nvidia wait for year or two when cycle is over and competition i.e custom chips from Intel amd Facebook and Microsoft catch up..untill then expect Nvidia to hit 6 trillion as there are no sellers

I feel like i was pretty clear in the video but maybe I explained it poorly, When it his 10-12 dollars off the 9 you can buy a put option. The last 4 times this occurred, two would have broke even ( following my trade rules of set to break even after 15%) and two would have made money ( this one included) It worked quite well. I don't gamble
Markets can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent. But the valuations are clearly bonkers

135.58 today 😁. I have made so much on this stock......ridiculous.
You can safely ignore anyone that is still calling it Navidia....
Why not short AMD instead. Comparatively much richer evaluation than NVDA and is in the same chip cycle

@@heneliezer1421 and… it has negative YoY numbers in a semi super cycle. If NVDA “cools down” what do you think happens to a company that is lagging during the largest semi push in history? AMD is still valued more rich than NVDA. Trailing PE of 60 vs 300
I don't think shorting NVDA is a good idea. The forward P/E is almost reasonable for the company. 56% profit margin, rapid earnings growth, 88% market share in their industry, their industry is rapidly growing so even if they lose market share there is room for overall growth and momentum. Sounds like a big mistake to short to me

closed today for a nice gain, this was a swing trade not a long term trade
I've been selling nvds puts for like 35/36 range. Conservative way to short nvda and the premiums are juicy
It won't work u need sentiment too. If it grows 30-40% it will keep growing..unless u expect a 20 or less growth which wouldn't happen until Intel amd haweui and Google/Microsoft/Facebook custom chips come into market

You have the same concerns as others, I think I just explained poorly. The last 3 times (4 including this one) it was extended off the 9 EMA this high, the trade would have yielded two break evens and two successes.

Didn't lose any sleep I had a stop loss. Bought a put for 1440, stoploss set for 1150. Lowest it hit I believe was 1280. Honestly I was more bummed that I might break even. At the close of Friday it was about 1550 but I have a rule that If I go up 10% or more I set it to break even. It came extremely close to hitting but didnt. It definitely hurt to close the position at 25% gain but NVDA is too unpredictable.
Dude, why don’t you just buy a put. Shorting is so dangerous.
