Dying a wedding dress
Part two
In this video i go through the process of dying a wedding dress.
You'll need:
3.5-4 tsp tsp of Rit Sandstone, 11.5-12 tsp of Rit Super pink, 2cups of vinegar , 3 tbs of salt, gloves ( longer the better), large container, measuring cup , measuring spoons and of course the dress.
Heat water on stove to a rolling boil, transfer to large container. Add vinegar and salt, stir. Add dye and stir again. Drop garment into solution and let the fun begin!
Turn garment frequently to assure an even color for 30 mins. Remove garment, dump out container . Fill container or tub with clean cold water , place garment into container, allow it to soak for a few minutes than dump and repeat until water is clear. Take garment outside and allow to fully dry. Enjoy your brand new dress!

Your best "assistant" would have been a tripod for your camera, that way you would have had both hands free to work on the dress. Another great "assistant" when dying large items like this dress? A plunger! No kidding! They are wonderful for jobs like this! Just pick up a couple from the dollar store and keep them specifically for doing this.
A little disappointed you didnt include photos of you In the dress. Lol was waiting for that moment haha

@@clararoy2829 epic fail!! My dress did not dye but my sleeves turned magenta...omg was a disaster for me. I ended up just leaving it as it was an had a seamstress cut and remake me some sleeves...i wish it had turned out as beautifully as this video...

Why didn't the outer part of the dress dye? Does dyemore not dye that material? Thanks!!
So did you let it air dry? I’m afraid it will wrinkle and the tag says dry clean only.
