I can't tell you just how much this video helped me. A few years ago I was at a closeout store (Marc's) and found 5 ROLLS about 24" X 3" diameter of laminate material for $2.99 each. These have just been sitting on my shelf gathering dust & occasionally laminating important documents. WOW, the possibilities that you have opened for me are ASTOUNDING! Thank You So Much! I can't wait to try this process! My opportunities are almost endless & I probably have enough laminate for the rest of my life!

Just started watching a few videos. Just commenting on protection papers. I laminate pressed flower bookmarks in laminating pouches using an iron now. My roll type laminator broke and looking into replacing with a T-shirt press as more versatile. But I’m surprised no one has mentioned to use parchment baking paper as a protectant. I iron on it! Thank you for the great tutorials! I'm new to sublimation, and you've really helped me a lot. I have a question, though, and I'm hoping you'll have an answer. I tried this on a few small pictures and they came out wonderful. Then I tried it with a 5x7 picture of my mom and dad, and the black in the picture (they were wearing wet suits) came out - well, "burnt looking" is the best I can explain it. There's almost a brown film over the black. I don't know if it's something with my color settings for the print, or something with my heat press settings. Any suggestions?

Which side of the laminate did you choose to be touching the canvas vs facing up to be sublimated later? By the way you switched your original placement, I'm guessing there is a difference in the sides.

If you put sublimation paper and a flat blank in a teflon paper sandwich could it sublimate the blank? I'm super curious cause I have a wide laminator

So my question is on the canvas could you not use the poly spray and get the same results a little cheaper and easier? I thought about the warping issue and if you get a spray bottle that did light mist I believe it would be fine.

It's probably fine, but the laminate prints incredibly well also.

I have a cutting board that I am wanting to press onto. I am wanting to use just words in the middle. Would I laminate the whole board or just the middle that is going to have the wording? Thanks

Hi. I keep trying this on a flat canvas board but mine comes out “wrinkled”. Any tips to avoid the film wrinkling when it’s pressed? Thank you!

On canvas, it will slightly take the form of the canvas, so small wrinkles are just part of it.

I use my weeding tool and make a small hole into the bubble, use a felted squeegee to remove bubbles and put back under heat for 90 seconds. Removes the bubbles and wrinkles for me.

I saw you use several sheets of paper before pressing the picture, can you explain what they were (underneath and on top of canvas)

hello Southpaw STUDIO. this is one of the best subscriptions I Joined. Your presentations are great. I like the laminate idea. Here is my question. I have been wanting to subloimate on a dollar tree pint glass for beer. Can I put a layer of laminate on the glass, shrinkwrap the laminate and then sublimate on the glass? That would be great. What temp should I do the laminate? for how long.

I'm not 100% sure.. I've never tried laminate on drinkware of any kind.

I'm a little confused. When you heat the laminate onto the canvas board is that temp the same as the 350 for 120 seconds? Or how long to melt it on. Also later in the comments you mentioned a different time? You make it look easy.
