    Nobody is doing paintball tech vids like you! Best around, and it's not close. Thank you for taking the time and effort to do this right. Very nice job!

    I don't know if I'd call this a tech vid, but it's very informative either way. I already knew the benefits of this engine but a lot of people don't. Honestly I feel like QT paintball and myself agree on almost everything haha. I've liked every video you've done to date. Keep it up!

    Again, thank you for producing real reviews with actual information. I've had an M3s from August of 2018, as well as a dozen others bought and re-sold over 2019-2020. They're amazing. Amazingly efficient, remarkably easy on paint, reliable, easy on the eyes, and comfortable in the hands. It has it's weak points, but those are heavily outweighed by positives. I highly appreciate the M3 and it's poppy yet gentle shot. You said it, this is a greatly misunderstood and underappreciated marker. I hope Dye keeps the FL-21 in the M4.

    @@landonp4726 the tool-less grip system leads to rips, a feedneck that unnecessarily spins, a front foregrip that comes off inadvertently, and terribly soft trigger adjustment screws that strip too easily. Honestly otherwise this platform rocks.

    Fantastic explanation. Thanks for making this. The concept of a self-sealing chamber without relying on back-pressure is incredibly elegant!

    Excellent breakdown. On the bolt, you notice the holes under the tip? Those were a significant FPS gain over most other soft tip designs as well.

    Thanks John! I appreciate that. The 3 holes under the soft tip. Could you explain how that works?

  • @ironyusa3885

    @ironyusa3885

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@QTPaintball Most soft tips require compression with the breech to form a seal, whereas most well-designed oring tips use a floating seal (the oring gland is a bit oversized and pressure stretches the oring to seal the gap). As you know, many soft tips cause problems when they swell or wear. So the one on dye guns is loose in the breech, but those holes allow air to push the tip outward when a shot is fired to seal the breech.

    I was thinking about it all wrong. That makes perfect sense. Explains the profile of the tip. It always impresses me how the pressure in the breach can be utilized. The pulse from the shot able to generate the "inflation" alone or does it require the back pressure from a ball?

    Awesome info John. Is it recommended to remove the soft tip from the bolt before sliding it through the cylinder? I've just been pushing it through when doing maintenance

  • @ironyusa3885

    @@buckshotbrown2173 I usually don't remove it. I tapered the cans on the DSR and m3 to make the bolt easily removable without taking off the tip. The ramp usually allows it to pop back through during reassembly, but I typically install the bolt on the guide and then push the can over it. Saves time in the pits.

    So it will be very subtle. What the manifold is doing is softening the acceleration of the bolt. You don't need it, I believe the flex face and updated eye pipe are all you need.

    I find the M3 to be a better paint handler. The breach geometry and bolt tip design is superior to luxes

    The Etha one is not even worth talking about. I mean........they shoot paint but there's a lot of failure points in the drive train and yes........they do fail. I've had to fix every etha one in my city at some point, or at least that's what it felt like lol. Thankfully PE will still help you out with most of the issues if they have parts and almost every one of them needed parts replaced. At this point in time there's no reason to buy one unless you get it for an unbelievably cheap price and it's a fully functional gun.
