Thanks again, Natalie for the ink information. I actually prefer dye inks because I love to splatter with water and of course, pigment inks do not react in the same way! I also end up in a mess with pigment inks and often forget they stay wet for some time....saying that, I love my Versafine Clair pigment inks, especially for going over die inking when I am say creating a forest or I need something bold and opaque. I mainly have Memento inks, Versafine Clair, and Elements ink pads from Lavinia. The card is absolutely gorgeous by the way! x

Thanks! It's not the pigment ink in Versafine Clair that stops it lifting with water, it's the fact they're oil-based not water-based. Water-based pigment inks (like the Distress Oxides) will lift with water. x

Thank you once again. I love how airy the balloons looked and realized that’s because they’re dye inks. I’m learning so much! Yesterday I happened upon a Tim Holtz demonstration of his new line of distress spritz sprays. I believe it was posted on June 15. That was really helpful because he compared his dye, oxide, paint, & watercolor pencils with his new product. And I could start to tell the difference. The distress spray is gorgeous by the way! Can you recommend any swatching method videos or teach us how you do it? Thank you! Love you!!!

That's the prettiest Venn diagram I've ever seen! 😁 I'm now enamored with Catherine Pooler inks--that translucent effect is simply delicious! I had no idea how they were different from distress oxides until you started discussing their properties. Thank you so, so much for this very helpful video, Natalie! 💕

I have some CP inks, my issue is how different the colour is to the stamped image compared to the sample on the ink pad, they are not close in colour as examples lol

I've found that too. I swatched mine out so that I can see exactly what the colours look like on paper. :)

@@nbcascards I have done that with all my other inks, not CP yet. I only have a small collection of them. I will get around to them :)
I'm curious as to why you have Catherine Pooler inks as they are, I believe not readily available in the UK. Also in another video I think you said you got rid of your distress inks and I believe they have similar properties? I am not questioning your choices, just curious!

I chose Catherine Pooler inks because they work well with stamps. Distress Inks are great for blending but don't stamp well at all. I get my Catherine Pooler inks online from Bumbleberry Crafts here in the UK. They have a large selection and are reasonably priced. I''ve had a lot of inks over the years and these are the best water-reactive dye inks I've used so far. :)

Ooh that's interesting. I have a few distress inks (given to me) and I'm not that keen on them. I might have to consider the Catherine Pooler ones. Thanks for the info.
As you said also a way to fix a mistake! Nothing againt you, but comparisons of the two types of ink goes in my head, rattles around and falls out somewhere. I have some type of dyslexia (I think) that makes it hard for me to do anything in reverse pysically (like making up a car) or mentally (like comparing inks), So I take what I can. I had to review two new dies I got today and I think I was channeling you. The ideas just wouldn't stop. I also got one of those mini die cutting machine like you use only it was a cheap brand. I needed at least 3 hands to do anything with and all I have is two arthritic hands. Couldn't do a thing with it. Thanks for the ideas.

@@XenobiaF Unless I am given some of those inks either the Distress or Pooler I doubt I will even learn about them. I have cheap inks that do what they need to.

@@gailrodgers3079 As long as the ones you have do the job, that’s really all you need. If you want to try them, just buy one Distress Oxide pad in a color you use frequently or buy some of the small Distress Oxide cubes. That’s how I started my collection. I also try to buy them when there are sales.
