Music can be universal like that. What really matters, in my opinion, is your life experience and the lyrics of a song from any genre, as long as it makes you feel.

I’m 75, I’ve listened to country music all my life, and that riff towards the end of the song with Pete and Flaco is absolutely as good as it gets. Amazing pairing of guitar and accordion. I’ve listened to it a thousand times over the years, and it’s wonderful to sit here and watch them perform it. Dwight Yoakam stands alone at the top of my all-time favorite artists list, and this song is one reason why...

Damn, after hundreds of views it finally donned on me. This song is a corrido. If you don't know what a corrido is it's [a ballad in a traditional Mexican style, typically having lyrics that narrate a historical event and/or a tragedy]. The words are in English but the soul wretching sound from the accordion is what does it. Dwight Yoakum is a musical genius.

Then they'd have to go to Texas and find a legendary accordion player like Flaco Jiminez. Pretty easy, huh? I think Tyler Childers could maybe pull off some of it, can't think of any other new artiists that could...

What a great song everything he sings. That voice and guitar he's just down to earth. Just a young kid from Kentucky who took off on his own. People couldn't believe the voice that young man had. And he can play guitar as good as anyone else. And thank God I got hooked on him when I did. I believe it was in the 80's can't remember but I listen to him everyday. I wonder if he ever got past his fear of antiques and midgets . Wasn’t too friendly with cocksuckers or retards either but that was way back when. Good times.

I played this song on a whim at a gig last night. Made a lady cry. She’d never heard it before.😢🎸 one of my favourite lines in any song: “ She wore red dresses and left the wounded behind”. Something in that line gives me goosebumps every time I heard it and brings a lump to my throat every time I sing it. 😢🎸

Really everything about this song is brilliant...I would put it shoulder to shoulder or even above any country song ever it is that good. This resonates to core of humanity and its dark angels. The lyrics are peeled down to the bare bones every word has impact with his delivery. It comes across as he is truly telling his dark story of heartbreak and the darkest revenge and justice.

Every time I listen to this song, I go right down the rabbit hole and listen to Dwight for days. He still sounds SO good at age 65!! And has a two year old son. What a stud. But seriously, he’s such a true great!!

Man I love Dwight Yoakum! He sure is missed from the stage! He really has his own style and that’s what sets him apart from many others! Kinda like Elvis Presley he has his very own style! We love you Dwight!

I have to come back to this video at least once, twice and sometimes 3 times a week! No one will ever, ever touch me like Dwight Yoakum!!! Those eyes, voice, guitar playing and moves ( I love when he dances with his guitar, lol) can ever be matched!!! He and Flacco are in a class all their own!!!
